Question:

Isn't it funny that a country with a rampant steroids problem call other countries cheats?

All I hear from the US media and so many people is that China cheats. Back in the day it was the USSR cheats. I bet if the Olympics were held in the Vatican, the priests would be called cheats.

And then, to justify being sore losers, people say, "Well, it's all about the integrity of the games. It's all about sportsmanship and honor." But they still cry wolf when they lose. I hate when the Olympics come around. It makes the US appear to be hypocritical. Wait. No. They are.

  1. I'm waiting for the next Rocky movie where Stallone beats up a corrupt communist pumped up on steroids Chinese boxer. That would be fun to watch! lol

  2. your an idiot.

the US would NEVER purposely cheat by knowingly put little girls in gymnastics that were underage and then forge documents to cover it up. If the Chinese arent going to honor the rules of the olympics and the IOC then why even bother having the olympics to begin with. You HAVE to have rules, and everyone has to follow them. Period!

How is it the US or anyone else whining when the chinese government had the girl listed as being 13 yrs old back in november and now all of a sudden she's 16? She looks freaking 12-13 to everyone, thats why there has been so much controversy about it.

If you cheat, then you lose your medal. People should be angry with China for disgracing their own country by all of this. It just goes to show that the chinese government will hold nothing back to appear superior to the US and the rest of the world.

  3. agreed. even if the chinese team is younger, i think they should have their chance to go out. they were trained and forced to try hard at a young age. they should at least get the chance to shine

  4. It takes a thief to know one. Because America has a lot of experiences with cheating and doping athletes, naturally it is more aware and more vigilant.

  5. I only believe the Chinese have cheated in one event, and oddly enough, a lot of people from other countries seem to believe the same thing.

Of the three athletes that have tested positive for doping, the US has not been one of them.  The U.S. has done that in the past, but I think now a lot of athletes just want to prove that those foolish few were just that: foolish and just a few.  They want to prove that American athletes are good without steroids.  Perhaps they only need to prove it to themselves, in which case the opinion of an uninformed bystander such as yourself really doesn't matter.

Current American athletes are having to suffer for the mistakes of past athletes.  They are tested before and after EVERY event, whether it is for a medal or just qualifying.  Eventually the rest of the world is going to have to get up to speed and realize that yes, we made mistakes in the past.  But we left those mistakes in the past, and so should you.

  6. In the arena of sports, I agree with you totally.

  7. BINGO!!!

  8. shut up, i am american, i want to whine about it, nothing you can do, I am gonng whine on yahoo, then i am gonna whine on google, then i am gonna make a video of myself whining and post it on youtube. how do you like that, non-american.

  9. i am american and i agree, but the guys who did steroids are getting punished

  10. The priests at the Vatican are cheats for entirely different reasons

  11. you got that right

  12. Hit the proverbial nail right on the head!  Bravo!!!

  13. So because an American (in a separate event an a while ago) was found to have participated in doping that makes it ok for a a group of young women (and not just americans but every other country that put a women's gymnastic team out there) to be robbed when another country uses younger athletes? That seems highly questionable to me. If it was any other country they'd complain to a certain degree too. Don't get the media and the small slice of Americana here on Yahoo Answers confused as a depiction of what all Americans feel or think.

Not all Americans have cheated in an athletic arena and used steriods so many of us would still like to see games played cleanly and justice served when they aren't. Ironic as it may be to you lot, but I feel many on this site are comparing apples to oranges in an attempt to support their Anti-American stances.
