Isn't it great to see a Republican governor handling the evacuations in Louisiana?

Isn't Jindal showing us how it should be done? Doesn't it seem like the inept Nagin knows enough to just stay out of his way?

  1. Maybe, just, maybe everyone learned from the mistakes of last time and it has nothing to do with democrats against republicans or vice versa.  The entire think last time was a mess, and it was not just Democrats involved.  It is easy to do better when you just saw how another group of people did it wrong.

  2. all eyes are watching the local government ?

  3. It's great to see that hundreds of people won't die and won't be ignored like last time and obviously they have learned from Katrina. I do think he's doing a great job though. I don't think it's because he's a Republican but sure, he's doing fine.

  4. Absolutely!  I live in hurricane territory and when we receive hurricane notices, immediate preparations are made. Nobody in their right minds ignore warnings (like their former governor or that idiot, Nagin), we take action.  These people are so in-tune to big government and their dependency on it, that it's downright dangerous.  Notice also that New Orleans wasn't the only area wiped off of the map when Katrina came through, but you never read anything about US, why?  Because we did something about it and we've rebuilt our areas, with the help of those who lost everything.

Jindal is on the ball and apparently the nut from NO has learned his lesson, the hard way.  He should have been HANGED in public!

  5. He's doing a great job!

  6. At least they are all working on the same page this time around we all ready have the national guard down there. Unlike last time.

  7. Everyone failed during Katrina - both republicans and democrats and you can't compare the efforts being made now to what happened three years ago.  If we're lucky, we all (including public figures) learn from our mistakes.  They know more today than they did three years ago.  They're more conscious of the situation today than they were three years ago.  It's great to see the president showing a little interest this time around when he couldn't even be bothered to cut his vacation short three years ago.

  8. MUCH BETTER THAN DEMS CAN EVER DO

  9. Dems across the board, from the lowest of the low, to elected officials are so dangerously dependent on the federal government it's frighteningly dangerous.

They don't, won't or can't take responsibility and lead the way, they have to have somebody else hold their hands.

Nagin and Blanco were perfect examples of this.

Heck, Mississippi had entire towns completely wiped off the map during Katrina. We didn't hear alot of whining from MS. That governor is a Rep to.

    Go figure.

  10. After all this time, I still can't fathom the complete ineptitude of the Democratic governor and the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans.  They did practically nothing right at all, and often did... nothing at all.  Quite a pair, eh?

I'll never forget Nagin whining that "Somebody's got to do something."  That was a priceless moment.  It would be like Barney Fife moaning, with no sense of irony, that someone needs to give Aunt Clara a parking ticket, if only, if only someone in authority were around!

To those people who still want to give the two Democrats a free pass and shift the blame to the Feds, let me explain something: according to the law, the governor is required to request the national guard and other forms of Federal assistance.  The Federal Government is not supposed to unilaterally decide what is best for a given state.  States have rights and even some autonomy.  Sending in troops without authorization from the local government might be seen as bullying, or even a type of invasion.

Nagin used none of the resources at his disposal, except for the local bar, where he drank heavily the night before Katrina.

Once again, it takes the Republicans to extricate the Democrats from the fetid sewer of their own ineptitude.  Notice the huge difference between how a Republican state like Texas handles their hurricanes, and a democratically-run state like Louisiana (prior to Jindal).

    Yes, the comparison is embarrassing.

  11. yeah you have to tell government dependent people when their life is in danger, oh and hey, you might want to get the f**k out !

  12. Yes, thank goodness, we have none of that not wanting to ask for help (until it was too late) just because it was a republican administration like we did with Katrina.

  13. Isn't great to hear the Republicans crow about their performance after the totally botched the Katrina response.

  14. Much better than the Dems did last time.

  15. Yes, this is just as good as The RNC being suspended for now!!!

    Good showing Republicans!!!!
