  1. Yes, It's bad news.

  2. Yes very sad.

Chris was one of my favourites many years ago, along with the Jakovic brothers, and of course John Worsfold.

The dual premiership player will be sadly missed.

I wonder how long it will be before Ben Cousins gets the blame for  being the last one to see him!

I bet he gets blamed for supplying him drugs!

  3. very very sad day for the mainwaring family, the afl and the west coast footy club. a great player from 87-99, was part of 2 flags. playing the 1992 winning side with a broken foot, a champ and will be missed by a lot, R.I.P

  4. I heard about that this morning poor guy i send all my best wishes to his family.

  5. It is very sad especially for his children!! God bless them and R.I.P Chris...

  6. I'm sorry to hear that.

My condolences to Australia for losing a son.

  7. Condolences to the Mainwairing family, very fine man and player. If Cousins has anything to do with this . i hope he pays for it, trouble follows Cousins.. R.I.P. Chris.

  8. Yes, I certainly agree, it is horrible.  His poor wife and family now are left to somehow get through this.

This is what happens when you keep taking the high road.  He was a known party boy and drug taker.  No one forced drugs down his throat.  Him & Ben are mates because they are tarred with the same brush.

Respect to the dead and all but don't make him out to be a saint just because he was an exceptional sportsman.

  9. That's so sad. Condolences to the family & friends. Good footy player.

  10. OMG!!!!!  OMG!!!!!  OMG!!!!!

    What happened???

You just gave me the biggest shock ever!!!!

I watched the news this morning but nothing was mentioned.

    What time was it announced???

    He was so young.

I loved him at West Coast.

    :( sobs...

  11. God Bless You Mainy and may you soar like an Eagle in Heaven.  WA won't be the same without your larrikan smile.  We have lost a favoured son.  We are thinking of your family and wondering how someone so loved and blessed could die at the age of 41.  RIP Chris x x x x x

  15. It is terrible news. I feel very sorry for his family. From the sound of reports over here in WA- I have a feeling the WCE are in for yet another devastating round of publicity.

  16. Oh - I just got back from the GF and hadn't heard that news.

That is both startling and sad.  He seemed to be the most together of all players.  But if that is right that he took his life, I hope and pray that this helps to raise awareness of this insidious problem that takes our best from us.  Condolences to all and may he now find peace.

  17. OMG I just found out!!! That is so sad he was with th eagles since like 87! That is horrible. I cant believe it!!! How did he die??
