Makes this government a joke sorta don't you think? I wish we would just mind our own business for a while til we straighten our own problems out.

  1. We have the same situation in Canada.  Our neocon Prime Minister is mouthing off about the Russian/Georgia thing. It's an absolute joke when he has his nose up Bush's *** and is sending troops over to Afghanistan. He wants so badly to hear Bush say, "What a good little boy you are."

You are quite right about minding our own business. For better or for worse, let the Muslims figure out their own destiny.  Of course, it's all about OIL.

  2. More like hypocritical. Irony usually implies that there's something funny about it.

  3. you bet ye.

  4. It's not really ironic.  Ironic would be Bush complaining about someone invading the US.  It's hypocrisy for Bush to tell others to stop the aggression.

  5. In today's global economy, minding one's own business is a very bad idea. Like it or not, everything that happens in every other nation has a direct impact on us. So we HAVE to get involved... but we have to get involved wisely. And in that sense, you are onto something here. When we invaded Iraq, a lot of people who complained that this was going to seriously injure our foreign credibility. Those people were scoffed at, but now you can see exactly what the fuss was about. You are right. Bush is telling Russia to back off, because invading a sovereign state is wrong. But we did it, right or wrong. So who are we to say anything? Who will listen to us when we are a bunch of hypocrites? How can we convince someone that what they are doing is wrong when they perceive that we did the exact same thing? It IS a joke, and the joke is on us and our allies.

p.s. Calling Georgia a "democracy" is very misleading. It is a known fact that their election was "fishy," to put it lightly. Most people who know would call it "rigged." In any case, that is besides the point: Russia could care less what kind of government they were. We invaded a sovereign nation. They are doing the same. Arguing semantics with them is going to be a much weaker argument than an argument by good example would have been.

  6. "WE"? wow you dont know anything no i dont think its ironic

  7. Dosen't Obama say the same thing?

If not, why not?  In fact what do WE say, or is this a Dem vs Rep thing for you?

  8. It's a very tough job, but someone has to do it. We are very lucky to have a leader like Bush rather than that phony sissy John Kerry.

  9. Irony, hypocracy YES!

How is S.O wanting independence different from Kosovo?

Wasn't it Georgia that attacked S.O killing civilians, so how come there is no condemnation there.

Yes of course Iraq comes to mind. Another thing not mentioned is, when the skirmishes between S.O and Georgia started, Russia brought a resolution calling for hostilities to cease and seek a peaceful resolution. It was US that ignored the resolution.

Here's the biggest. Bush called Russian retaliation disproportionate. No doubt it was. However Just two years ago Israel destroyed Beirut killing hundreds of innocent civilians. There was condemnation from every country in the world except Bush, rather Bush still supported Israel and its actions.

Comparison to what Israel did, Israel should've been charged with war crimes.

  10. Not ironic.

What's ironic is that you can make this kind of statement, just like the Iraqi's can now.

    Russians can't.

Funny thing. . . .Ironic, maybe,

  11. Ironic, hypocritical, whatever.  But can you expect him to actually get his act straight?  No.  So in the end, it's not a surprise, and he certainly won't learn.

  12. Bush should learn not to Invade countries he can't conquer! If it wasn't Bush it would be Kerry!

  13. We deposed a dictator.  Russia has invaded, raped and looted a sovereign democratic nation.  Big difference.

  14. You got to remember you are talking about a get into every bodies business President Bush

    .

Stay at home and worry about your own troubles Bush was his dad

    .

So what the heck let him rattle his jaws all he wants to someone who only speaks Russian

    .

  15. yeah, but as soon as they invade Alabama I'll be pissed

  16. Well, it's his decision whether to do that or not, I guess. We can't really do anything about it, as much as we wish we could.
