  1. Seeing a ten your old horse run is great especially since most great stakes horses retire before four years old to go off to breed.

  2. Thats just wonderful!! So yes oh yea!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Ask The Lord won at Fairgrounds last week, he's 11 :)

  4. Yes, he is a great horse. He stills runs like a 2 year old! Evening Attire is a warhorse. He doesn't like to get defeated. Although he stays well of the pace, he still has that kick that is what we all know of. I love to see older horses run, too! Like Lava Man and Revved Up. Too bad the Tin Man's career ended. He was a great competitor! Evening Attire is one of the greatest!

  5. Yes!!! definitely.

  6. yes it is, unusual to see tho here in australia, we seem to start out horses to early with alot of 2yr olds going around, id prefer to see them wait till 3-4 yrs, let them grow and mature this will result in a better horse rather than flog the as a 2yr old and they are over by the time they are 4yr olds, give them some time and results will flow

  7. Yeah, it's very cool. I think Shuffling Madness will win, but I'm rooting for EA.   Do you ever watch any UK racing?  Horses run up to an advanced age over there it seems like, especially in jumps racing.

  8. Believe it or not they tried to retire Evening Attire 2 years ago, but Evening wanted NOTHING to do with that! He wants to be on the track, so The Grant's (owners) and Pat Kelly (trainer) give him plenty of time between races... but he kinda tells them when he's ready to run.

I am a little concerned that's he's getting another new jockey, but I'm sure Ramon Dominguez will be okay. Evening sure knows his way around Aqueduct...LOL! He loves it there.

  9. As we have a lot of Nationa Hunt (jump) racing here in the UK and Ireland, it is very common to see horses racing until the age of 14/15 and some go on even longer.

The oldest horse to win a Group 1 race was Yavana's Pace who won the Credit Suisse Private Banking Pokal (G1) at Cologne in Germany aged 10 years old in 2002.

He was trained in Britain by Mark Johnston
