  1. You can believe books written by men when they are teaching provable facts and not just taking their best guess about how something could have happened in the past.

Featuring an impressive cast of world-class scientists and scholars, Foolish Faith exposes the failure of mainstream science to answer the ever-present question of where we came from — unveiling a surprising store of controversial facts that support the existence of God, but are largely ignored by the media.

  2. Kinda hypocritical of you to degrade others for believing in men's words when you believe in the Bible, isn't it?

These others have facts to back up their words.  Your bible doesn't.  Get the diff?

  3. Martin Luther, John Calvin and your preacher are all men too.

And you know who else were mere men?  Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul.

  4. I was an atheist before I had ever heard of these people, so their books had no influence on my decisions.

Every religious text has been written by men and are the product of their environment.  This is evident by the racist, sexist ideologies that pervade them.  So, yes, I suppose it is ridiculous to believe the words of mere men.

  5. All down through history people have tried to prove that they have the answer to all of man's problems, they want to be number one. Satan did the same thing. If time goes on those men that you have named will be forgotten. They have even tried to prove the Bible is a lie. God's word has been around forever and it will be here when they are gone. You can not do away with something that God has put in our souls from the beginning.

It is very sad when they finally meet Jesus Christ they will know then they were wrong but it will be to late. Good question, God Bless

  6. i thought the bible was written by men you know like it says in the bible

  7. Because they have the facts to back them up.

    Unlike the bible.

  8. The Bible was written by men. Yes some of it was Inspired By God, but most of That has been changed. It has been used as a tool since men created it to bend the minds of other men.

  9. Not if they have evidence to back up their claims.

  10. wasn't the bible written by men?

  11. I have only read one of Dawkins efforts, not his latest, and I have not even heard of the other two.

If one person tells you that evolution is a fact and produces some evidence then you are at liberty to disbelieve. If three people tell you and produce overlapping evidence, some the same, some different  than perhaps you might consider that there might be something in it.

When several thousand tell you with a wide range of evidence, all of it broadly or specifically consistent with what the others say and some of which you know to be factual, then I'd suggest your disbelief is not reasonable.
