Isn't it scary that McCain and Obama don't have any Economic policies?

I respect both of them as being strong, self-made, intelligent and eligible men- but as much as I have researched; none of them have any strong Economic policies? I would have thought this should be the most important thing and this is especially worrying because we are going into a Recession and in about five years time we'll be living in a gutter.

I live in Britian, but it still concerns me greatly because of the huge influence that the US Market has on the whole rest of the world.

I also don't want any abuse on how I'm an 'ignorant foreigner' please.

  1. Not any scarier than where Bush's "policies" have gotten us.

  2. McCain's non-economic policy scares me more than Barry's....

He'll obviously hand down the job to whoever he chooses as his running mate.  So let's hope it's not the Cheney type he selects or else we're doomed.

  3. There is only one area of the economy that the POTUS can demonstrably influence.  Taxes.  We all know where each of them stand on that issue.

  4. It is scary! I hope the winner can come up with some strong economic advisers. Either one will need a lot of help.

  5. It is not abuse, but you are a foreigner and the question is ignorant. Both have economic policies. Barrack Carter has his which is basically socialist elitist. Tax and enslave the most successful and hard working people and business so that he, the benevolent shinning leader can give a small check to the rest. Thus setting himself and his party up

McCain's policies embody what the founding father of our country knew.Less taxation and less government is the best way to govern

  6. Well, McCain has been talking about his for 15 months, sorry if your liberal news is so biased.

  7. i think that you express a legitimate concern. while there are differences between them (i recommend you take a look at each man's campaign website), neither one is dealing with the fundamental economic policies that ensure economic inequality in the US: weak labor protections, low taxes on corporations, little to no social safety net. the one candidate is center right and the other is hard right. unfortunately it seems like this is the best the US can come up with right now and hopefully most americans will pick the man who at least has expressed an interest in helping the economic viability of the everyday person.

  8. Well, exactly how does the President of the US influence the economy?

    He can't make any laws.

  9. They both have proposed economic policies. McCain's policies are a continuation of Bush's, except maybe a little worse.  Obama's has put forth proposals to jump start the economy.

  10. I think that a president is only as good as the advisors he/she selects..

But, Obama's focus on developing an Alternative Energy sector will be a wonderful economic driver that will create jobs, keep US dollars from flowing to the Middle East and improve our environment and quality of life, all at the same time.

And for correction, McCain is not in any fashion "self-made".  he was a Naval Academy legacy who received special favors throughout his career

  11. U are such an ignorant foreignor...lol just teasing.  :)

Keep in mind, that we Americans are generally corrupted by our own media telling us a bunch of bullsh*t.

So it's up to you Brits and the rest of Europe to keep us informed from your news channels as to what's REALLY going on.  Thank you.  :)

  12. No because the mentality of the people who think that a president of the government should be setting economic policies are really just socialist. The more that government stays away from economics the better we will be. The congress is totally incapable of helping in any economic situation due the the fact that we do not get capable people elected.

  13. McCain believes in lower taxes and renewable energy, while still producing oil. McCain does need someone like Romney to enforce the economic message.

Obama thinks that by raising taxes and creating bigger government he can Tax his way into a better economy. This has been proven to always be wrong. Jimmy Carter tried that and we had a very bad economy. The state of Michigan has also tried that and we have the worst economy.

  14. They both have made substantial economic and tax proposals that have been subject to rigorous analysis and criticism from all sides.

All you have to do is cruise their respective web sites to find the proposals.  It's pretty easy.
