Isn't it sick that thousands of folks are getting upset over the Palin/baby issue, when there are people that are dying of hunger, facing floods and disaster, ad infinitum? How shallow ! Where is your focus tonight??

The focus is on the election and the ultimate loss by the Democrats. At least McCain cut short the RNC and said we will do whatever is necessary to help in this time of crisis.  The Dems are too busy to be bothered with anything like a Hurricane, at least until after the fact,and then they want to know why no one is there yesterday to hold their hands and give them money, food and clothing. They don't want to help people unless it benefits them directly.

the Dems on Larry King are making me physically ill. Corvell and King, trashing that woman and family is disgusting.

"She has 5 children, one is (handicapped) and one is pregnant, why is she running for VP?" If she can't tend to her own family, what was John McCain thinking when he picked her?

If the Dems had any chance at my vote before, they've lost it now.

Great question.  I think that it is a shame that the media has to report on things like this.  I know some very good, honest people who have had this very same thing happen to them.  I don't feel it is a reflection of how well Palin will or will not serve as VP.  I am a Republican, and I thought the same thing when Clinton had his affair.  That was between him , Monica, and his witch/wife.  (sorry, couldn't help it!)  Kudos to Obama today when he said that this issue should not be a part of our politics.  I believed every word he said, and he was very, very right today.  probably the only time I will ever agree with him 100%.  But good for him.

Every family will have a personal crisis at some time or another.  I believe the Palin's will handle and are handling this situation as well as they can.  They are supportive of their daughter; who has made some choices that have put her in the public spotlight.  She is getting married and keeping her child.  I think that is all good, given the choices that some may have taken.  It is rather shallow to be focusing on this event rather than giving the family some privacy and respect as they deal with a personal issue.   I have read some personal attacks against Sarah Palin which are unfair, very judgemental and in very poor taste.  Palin will go on and do a wonderful job and will show the world what she is made of.  The lack of sensitivity and respect by those always searching to dig up dirt and throw out accusations is disgusting.

My thoughts and prayers are of course with the people in Gustav's path. We loaded two trucks today, with food, water, blankets, etc. and they are on there way to the Red Cross. I'm am so proud of how Americans have handled, this disaster, because their is no way we could have handled another Katrina. As far as I'm concerned, if you come away from this with your life, and your family's lives, we have been successful.

Yes it is sick. The state of some American people are an embarrassment to this country. Here it is a National holiday and people are sitting at home on their computers, bored to tears and talking trash about someone they don't know.  How cruel can people be? We live in a sick world, with sick people that need serious professional help. I think at this point, if this sick attitude continues, there is no hope for the sick people of USA.  I rest our case.

In times past it was always considered a HUGE blessing from GOD to have a child. Now days, we toss the baby out with the bath water,  hearts have grown cold, lies become truth, truth become lies and people have no morals. Another Bible prophesy fulfilled.

Some people think that mocking Palin will advance Obama.

Some people think that only bad parents raise chlidren who get knocked up, and since Palin is, in this logic, a bad parent, as vice president, she will blow up the world ... or something.

It is!  No mother or father should be liable for a grown child's decisions.

With that said, I will also say that she is not hiding this fact and she is standing by her child as any loving mother would.

I would also state this has no place in politics and is a non-issue for the American people.  It isn't like Sarah had an affair in the oval office, or that she has lied.  Palin has shown herself to be an upstanding woman and she will be an asset to McCain.

My focus was on what a marvelous job everyone did, pullling together where the storm came in.  I am sorry for the people who did lose their lives.  I am thankful it did not get any worse.  I prayed for the storm to diminish, and it looks like others did too.  Thankfully, it is over.

they have nothing to attack her about so they are going after a 17 year old daughter and blaming the mom for the pregnancy. It's stupid and it's wrong.  Every mother of a 17 year old knows that you can't control their every action.

I have to agree that this is sick. never once have they consider the ones going through the storms in weather and life. Where has our compassion for our fellow man gone. Maybe the people being so cruel have never had to live through  a hurricane or the birth of of a Little baby. conceived out of wed lock.  I have been through both. and they are not easy, but it did learn me to be grateful that I survived both. by the loving grace of God. And the reason to need to detract from a red flag in Sarah Palin's background is...

If she's not going to raise her kids in a way that such things wouldn't happen, then that is pretty hypocritical if she claims to be of the "Christian values" Republican side. Sorry, but a red flag is a red flag.

The thing that makes me mad is that her side generally sees atheists like me as morally inferior, yet apparently my morals are better than hers are and would NOT be raising kids to be like that.

If you are a Democrat, it isn't surprising that you ask it since caring about the disadvantaged and the most vulnerable among us is what we are all about.
