I came to yahoo answers basically to see what other people do when the one they love is at war. This is my first time going through this. I love a Soldier that is serving. Anyway, where he is now there is no internet or phone lines yet. His job is to change that. I heard his voice and I feel so much better. Reading you guys (soldiers,mothers,wives,girlfriends,fian... and brothers) helped. Thank you for sharing your experience and comfort.

I can breathe a little easier now that I hear he is fine and you guys whether you know it or not helped me through it while I lurked and read for the most part...

hoooahhh

Thanks...

  1. The best support that you can give him is just by letting him know that you are waiting for his return home. I served in vietnam and saudi and on both occasions,my wonderful wife was there for me and that is what kept me going. The best of luck to you and your soldier.

  2. i kind of know what you mean.  when i was born up until 11 years old my father was on and off duty on a ship (navy) and my mom wouldn't talk to me about death or anything bad, she kept it positive and that's just what you have to do.  that, and it helps to keep yourself busy.
