  1. Yes you are ryt.

States bikker on issuse cos they dont share the national interests and have a selfish motive.

Distribution of water resources should be handeled by nationalization of all water resources.

  2. If nationalizing would stop Indians tossing their dead relatives into the rivers, I'm all for it.

  3. How in the world do you nationalize a river???? The river belongs to India if it is on Indian soil. You don't see America owning the Thames, or Britain owning the Hudson!

No, not really. States are responsible for upkeeping the rivers, sure... but the federal government is the one that provides money to each state for preservation costs. State tax goes towards roads and the local economy. Bottom line, the river still belongs to the country, not the state.

  4. I don't understand how do you nationalize a river, its public property to begin with, India's Federal Government should settle disputes between the states that is what the Courts are for

  5. This issue occurs in lots of countries.  Use of rivers and environmental protection of rivers should be handled by a federal authority rather than a local authority as diverting water from rivers and pollution in the form of run off into rivers effects everyone downstream.

  6. Rivers are controlled by states, just as security of rail tracks are left to the states , although , the Railways were nationalised right from its inception. The rivers, i.e.; water resources are Central property ........states create problem at times on sharing of water........this will always remain like this. All the mines were nationalised long ago . But, the states do have some control over them and they dispute various things regarding these.
