Question:

Isn't it time for LBW to be removed from one-day and T20 cricket?

The LBW dismissal was introduced to prevent batsman from playing with their legs thereby avoiding being caught out. This is required in Test cricket otherwise batsmen get an unfair advantage. But in one-day cricket, runs are more important thatn time spent at the crease. Surely, a batsman cannot hit a six or a four with his leg (kicking)? Removing LBW also makes the umpire's job easier. We have seen matches being lost because of bad LBW decisions. Why not remove them completely from the shorter forms of the games?

  1. and make Cricket even more batsman-friendly sport

    I don't think so

  2. HUh! give another advantage to  batsmen

  3. No

  4. Why, to help your team? This is not only a bad idea, it's not likely ever to happen .It would just help inept batsmen stay for an ultra boring innings.

  5. Sure, you are correct, a batsman certainly would struggle to "kick" a six, however, 4 leg-byes are quite common. So, by removing LBW, you not only make it more difficult than it already is for bowlers, but you do in fact open up another scoring opportunity.

It would be such an unfair advantage to a batsman that a bowler may as well give up even aiming for the stumps. If you remove LBW, you also make it near on impossible for a batsman to be bowled. You could just position your legs as to render the possibility of being bowled almost obsolete.

I think I understand what you are trying to say, but unfortunately it does not work very well. However, never give up on expressing ideas - ideas are where everything starts from.

  6. The LBW dismissal was introduced to prevent batsman from playing with their legs,... if it taken away,.. Sachin , Jayasuriya , and Ponting will bat forever~

  7. sorry dont think so buddy

if LBW's are taken off then India will bring back Rahul Dravid and Akash Chopra and along with Wasim Jaffer, the trio will get behind the line of the ball and bat till eternity

Don't think it will be such a good idea as it would slow down the game. Plus, cricket is already a batsman's game with LBW taken off it spells harder times for the bowlers.

  8. They're ok i guess..these days in one days atleast we dnt get too many wrong lbw descisions anyway.
