Isn't it time we started choosing veeps at conventions?

We've seen 3 (at least) highly questionable choices in the last generation: Cheney (because he admitted he didn't want to be president), the vapid Dan Quayle, and McCain's highly-questionable - c'mon, even if you're Republican, you must admit there were far better men/women he could have chosen - choice of Palin.

Maybe the choice of veep is too important for the prez candidate, and this should be chosen for him/her - Hilary should be Osama's veep, McCain's veep should be whoever finished 2nd to him.

  1. Sure, go right ahead.

  2. No.

You want the Presidential candidate to run as a team with his Vice President. Otherwise, you might get some combinations that don't work well, and the country might not be governed effectively.

And I'm no fan of Dan Quayle. But that pick told you something about George Bush.

  3. 1. they spend 2 years building up and politicing and stupid things that hamper progress, and you want something that big to change?

    2. WE DONT EVEN VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT... the elector college does, why? because the founding father didnt think the ave amarican was smart enough or well informed enought about topics of running a country...did you miss that part of history class?

    3. oh wait, your with obama who doesnt think history matters, right? yeah. i see the founding fathers were right about that choice with the elector college. As much as you say you want change (that's what your saying by asking this question) your still STUCK in the poltical party system, could you even guess what party way back when freed the slaves? the republicans, NOT the Democrats.(because their side won the war they got powerful, now they stand for the rich and oil drillers, again you'd have to read a history book to recall that info..but who needs history??? obama doesnt, HE's da man, he's above history.)

    4. Maybe you need to study history so you can get the change you complain you want so badly. George Washington said the ideas of parties was a BAD idea... it keeps us from looking at the people and what they sad for, you hear republican, you think bush and how bad he messed up so you automatically think ALL republicans are that way, news flash: they're not!

    5. people are so NOW NOW NOW....go read a history book and change now if you want it so bad.

good luck in your quest for change.

  4. I remember when the veeps were selected long and well before the conventions. You would be able to read up on them both in advance that you would have theirs lives down to the details. This election cycle has got to be the silliest one.

"I have selected my VP....but you will have to wait until next week. It is my little secret, na na na na!!!!"

I mean it is like watching two grade school kids withholding secrets.

  5. I would agree to that...

Even though I really like Biden, I would have rather seen Hillary take the spot, and that would have happened with an actual VP Election for sure...

McCain also would have been spared this horrible mistake.

  6. I agree.  The VP should be selected in primaries as well
