  1. yeah, in essence an atheist does not believe in God/Gods, so they would be discussing the subject in a strictly hypothetical fashion

  2. It's not.

  3. People are not born religious they are taught it by someone. So did you every think that most atheists started out believing in some kind of higher being (god) and then, weather they lost there faith or just started to believe there is no higher bring as time went on for them became atheists. Of course there are some people that was raised in a household that believe or dis-believe, there is higher being (god).

  4. all discussion about god is purely hypothetical.

  5. Nope, they don't.  They're so entrenched in their delusion that they actually think that if so much mention the name that means that you're a closet believer or whatever other fantasy hits their pea-sized brains at the time.  I was actually told by a freak once that I belived in god because I said "rest in peace" when someone died!

  6. DUH. which is why im agnostic.

  7. I would have to say most Christians have a difficult time figuring this out as twice today I have been told I hate god and at least a dozen more told not to give up on god . I may have been raised by Christians but they never did manage to make me one .

Elliot K go back and get a better education or at least figure out how to use spell check .

  8. "do most christians realise this or not?"

Most moderate Christians do. Many fundamentalists, however, cannot seem to grasp it.

  9. No, because then they would be agnostic. To be completely atheist you must say that there are definites. e.g. "God does NOT excist." Agnostics will tend to say things such "Well, If God did excist they why...".

    Theist - Definetly Excists

Agnostic - Asks A Lot Of Questions, Possiblities with numerous outcomes

    Atheist - Does Not Excist

  10. Not:they think some old invisible guy watches them in the shower and think he's not a perv....so how could they think of anything other than tazers and mace.

  11. that is probably why it is so insulting to Christians.  And Atheists say that they are so understanding and tolerant!

  12. "do most christians realise this or not?"

Not; they are convinced there really is an invisible guy poncing about in the sky doing mayhem to all and sundry for no apparent reason ... but he loves us.

  13. Many Christians do not seem to understand this.  I refer to god in the same way as I would Darth Vader or Papa Smurf.

He doesn't have to actually exist in order to make a logical/moral point.

  14. Actually it is quite funny how they demand that what they believe is not there, is not there.

Like trying to prove the negative about anything, makes one look awful stupid.

  15. Yes, and that's why atheists begin their hypotheticals with "if" as in "Christians, how would you feel if you learned there was no God."

Christians often start them with "when" like "Atheists, won't you regret it when God judges you in your grave."

  16. All discussion about god by ANYONE is hypothetical, unless you're 2,000 years old & have some stories to tell. :)

  17. All discussions about God are purely hypothetical.  There is no accurate and consistent way to gain knowledge about the supernatural.  And no, most people don't realize that.
