  1. If obama was my candidate I'd jump party lines too!

  2. trust me..not so strange..

People who know about Lieberman are not surprised at all.

    Dems saw it coming..

Lieberman is an opportunist...he's a Republican in Democrat clothing...

He's screwed over the Democrat party more than once, and he's bitter that he didn't get his parties nomination in 2000.

Next time he runs for anything it better have an R next to his name, or he can just foget about it....his career in the Dem party is finished.

People who don't know about Lieberman, think this is some revelation that he is "jumping party lines"....... we already knew which side he was on in the first place...he hasn't jumped any lines trust me.

  3. He is the republican token, he likes the attention the R's lavish on him when they  campaign in florida. Maybe his mom did not give him enough hugs.

Sad thing is - Obama helped him win re-election in 2006. Joe said

"“As far as I’m concerned [Barack Obama] is a ‘Baruch,’ which means a blessing. He is a blessing to the United States Senate, to America, and to our shared hopes for better, safer tomorrows for all our families. The gifts that God has given to Barack Obama are as enormous as his future is unlimited. As his mentor, as his colleague, as his friend, I look forward to helping him reach to the stars and realize not just the dreams he has for himself, but the dreams we all have for him and our blessed country.”

What a tool. And now, I hear the Republicans are turning on him too.

  4. Tells you everything you need to know about Lieberman.  Puts Israel above the US interests, and tries to save his own a$$ above all!

  5. No.....even Democrats are abandoning Obama & supporting McCain.

Maybe even Michelle will wise up too  & support McCain ?

  6. Except for the fact that Lieberman is not a democrat...  sigh

  7. It may not seem so strange if you actually did some research

    Lieberman jumped lines years ago

    He's an independent now

  8. He was just being loyal to his friend. But, I wouldn't be surprised if his chairmanship goes bye-bye.

  9. Hey be nice...

Joe Lieberman is deeply concerned about the future of his country......

    ISREAL

  10. It's called LEADERSHIP.

    God love him!

Vote for the HERO not the.....

  11. No it showed the courage of his convictions.

  12. Probably not as weird as the Democrats kicking him to the curb two years ago...

  13. Not really.  Joe Lieberman had to run as an independent when the Democrat Party wouldn't support him for his own re-election bid.  He is more moderate than liberal, like McCain is more moderate than conservative.  They have worked together on many pieces of legislation.

  14. He knows a strong leader and a good American when he meets one.

  15. It is amazing, considering he had a chance to face off  McCain in 2000, if Bush did not smear him with black baby rumors.

My guess Joe thought he would be the VP  pick.

  16. Lieberman is a man of the moment. He doesn't give a rats @ss about issues - it's all about his political ambitions.

  17. how else do get bi-partisanship? that is one reason palin has such a high approval rating in alaska, she has members from across the board working on all the issues. obama and biden has the stingiest record when it comes to working across party lines.  we need more from both sides to break with their parties when the common good is at stake.

  18. Nah.  Lieberman has been headed that way for some time now.

  19. When his own party ran him out who can blame him? I know how he feels...

  20. Hillary started out as a Republican

Many people switch parties for many different reasons...Just look around YA, people are switching here every day

I don't find it odd at all

  21. Vote for the person not the party.

  22. Lieberman has always been a closet republican. just ask any true democrat.

  23. Joe didn't JUMP

he was tossed OUT by the voters and pulled a big baby routine and went with the party he has said he opposes for yrs

he belongs with the flip flopping G O P

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." - G.W. Bush, 9/13/01 ...

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

  24. Tells you a lot about the status of the Democratic party.  For the past few years they could have won this election in a runaway if they had the smarts to put a moderate on the platform, and choose a non controversial VP...maybe even Billary.  But they choose two relatively inexperienced minorities to battle it out for the ticket...and the more inexperienced won.

  25. I think Joe Lieberman was supposed to have been the VEEP for McCAin but things changed and Lieberman gave his speech anyway

at the Repbulican Convention..but he is one in a billion

  26. It is amazing that when a man speaks from his heart and brain he gets called "weird."  robots, the lot of you libs.  robots.

  27. It isn't weird at all.  Senator Joe was dumped by the Democratic Party in favor of a nobody when he ran for re-election in CT.  Joe-Joe has been a strong supporter of our national defense, as well as Israel, which are "Republican" issues.  Case closed.

  28. If you're making a point, I don't get it.  Lieberman jumped party lines long ago, and by now the Democrats are sick of him.  He does have some expertise re Israel, and is strongly committed to Israel's safety, so it stands to reason that he'd accompany McCain for that portion of his trip.  What's so weird?

  29. No Lieberman cares about his country first.

  30. He's not the only one.

One of Hillary's strongest supporters, campaign contributor and promoter, as well as close personal friend, is voting for McCain:

John Coale, a prominent Washington lawyer, husband of Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, announced today that he was supporting John McCain for president. Coale, who traveled with Sen. Clinton, President Clinton and her family through out the primary season, complained of sexism, and said the Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types" in an exclusive interview with Newsweek.com's Tammy Haddad. He said he tried to prevent Clinton's brother, Tony Rodham, from attending an August 18th meeting in Scranton, Pa. with McCain campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina. "I urged him not to go and told him it would embarrass his sister, but he has a mind of his own." Coale says Mr. Rodham asked Ms. Fiorina "about McCain's Supreme Court picks."

  31. The only thing democrats replied when they saw Lieberman's speech was:  "It is true, J*ws can never be trusted".
