Yikes that story just makes me cringe

how awful for his poor parents who were there.

and how did it happen, how do you get decapitated from a roller coaster, did somewhat kick his head off? jesus.....

Do you think Six Flags should have had a little more safety precautions than just a couple of 6 foot fences and a few signs??

  1. Yes, this was a tragedy, but there comes a point where people have to be responsible for their own actions.  If you make the effort to scale TWO fences and ignore warning signs, I'm not sure what more the park could do, short of post guards, which probably isn't practical.

  2. YEA god i wonder if the parents sued..........

  3. i feel bad for his parents, but not so much for him. he was the one tht climbed the fences, and he probly saw the signs.

i heard tht he wasnt looking for his hat, but tht he wanted to get to the ride faster.

but its like they say, dont do the crime if u cant do the time.

  4. ugh it makes me sick to think how unsafe some of these rides are. there should be more precautions than a 6 foot fence!!!

  5. He jumped TWO fences and they even said "Danger danger!"

But no,...the kid ignores the TWO danger signs and then jumps two fences?

Come on, it's sad...but if the kid wasn't going to pay attention to the danger,...

  6. It was horrible, but honestly, it was the kid's fault. He jumped 2 six foot fences with plenty of signs, and then got decapitated, but he should have been smart enough not to pull a stunt like that. They would lose a lawsuit, no contest.

  7. boo hoo

    for him

    good for him

he crossed thoese fences and he was warned

but hes to stupid to listen

  8. its an awful thing that happened but what more should theme parks do? electrify the fences? build a water trap so that you can't cross? put armed guards everywhere? since when is it okay to climb fences? they are there to keep you out. at some point we have to be responsible for our own actions. my prayers go out to that poor family but this is one case where i don't think the fault is with the park. but with a kid who, being a kid, did not think his actions through and unfortunately paid a heavy price.

  9. Yes, he had snuck into the restricted area while the ride was going on. While he was under there, the ride hit him, sending his body toward a support beam, where his body was jolted from his head that hit the beam, and after the body fell, his head was cracked, sending a mist of blood to the riders in the back of the ride, while the rest of the people saw the whole thing happen.

It's very tragic and very unexpected, though this is not Six Flags' fault.  They warned the man with signs saying how dangerous it was to go there, and not one but two fences that weren't ment to be climbed.  He serves as an example to listen to warnings like that.

  10. It is horrible god bless his family's hearts. They went to enjoy a fun filled day and it ended so sadly. I have to say that you cant blame the park, they did have two fences and signs posted warning the dangers, this is just a typical teenage who thought he knew what he was doing god bless him but these things happen, you cant go around suing and blaming, its just the sad cause and effect factors of life.

  11. Yes this is a tragedy.  I would have to say that they had enough precautions.  And the parents are being very open saying they do not blame the park.  The 17 year old kid was being just that, a 17 year old kid who likes to push the rules... unfortunatly for him.. the rules pushed back this time = (.  I heart goes out to his family.

  12. Yes, this is tragic, however, it's not the parks fault.  This is the result of someone clearly disobeying POSTED signs telling him to KEEP OUT of the area.  There's fences there for a reason, as well as the signs.

As far as how he got decapitated, well, the coaster is a floorless coaster, meaning the riders' feet were dangling.  When you get too close to a track with a coaster going at 50mph, something's going to happen.  I'm surprised noone on the ride got injured.

As far as the parks' safety precautions, I don't think they need to change a thing.  When you do stupid things, you must deal with the consequences.  This kid did something stupid, and paid by losing his life.

  13. Ummm he deserved it in my opinion....

    Jumped TWO fences.

    Ignored WARNING Signs.

    Put himself in DANGERS way.

I do however feel sorry for the family.

  14. yea i herd about that today! what happened was he hopped the fence to get his hat that fell off while he was on the ride supposedly and he was hit by the roller coaster as it came by.  What i think is messed up is that when they asked a relative about it, and they said its a tragedy that the fences weren't built higher so people cant climb them. Instead of saying its a tragedy that my relative was killed! i couldn't believe that ****.

  15. there isn't any govt agency specifically in charge of safety at amusement parks,  and that is doubly true of the small fairs that come for a week and are then gone.

However, i can tell you that at most large companies, 1 death like this would have changed all sorts of things around the rides - like warning mgmt if someone crossed the fence, the signs would have been changed to warn not jsut that it would be dangerous, but thatt you could be killed, - LOTs of changes.
