  1. Well... not only. Just try and compare the Gilgamesh Epic or the great Babylonian poem of the Creation "Enuma Elish" with the Bible, and you'll find many differences, even if there is a common cultural background. One of the main peculiarities of the Hebrew text is its monotheistic rewriting of Babylonian material.

  2. I know it is not just Babylonian text. There are Hebrew and Israelis writings. There were probably texts from Egypt as well. It does contain several books as one to begin with, and these books are collections of writings from all over the Mesopotamia region.

  3. HI GANG.

The bible is a great book.. But, it is a history book of facts that took place.. all the books were written by people.. and each person saw things differently...

I love my Bible, but it is missing a lot of books...

nothing is mythology.. everything was written by humans and we all know that humans are in fact only human..

Thats the way that I have always seen it!!

  5. The Bible is a collection of sacred writings containing many of God’s revelations. It is a record of His dealings with some of His children from the Creation through the ministries of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. It was written by prophets and historians who knew God and testified of Jesus Christ. It is read and revered by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and they study it regularly.

The Bible is not God’s final revelation to humanity, however, and neither is this collection of sacred writings complete. The Bible itself speaks of other authoritative books of scripture including books of Nathan the prophet and of Jehu and Enoch, the prophecy of Ahijah, the visions of Iddo the seer, and even missing epistles of Paul (see 2 Chronicles 9:29; 13:22; 20:34; 1 Corinthians 5:9; Jude 1:14). Other books of Latter-day Saint scripture—the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price—clarify the gospel as taught in the Bible and corroborate the truthfulness of the Biblical witness of Jesus Christ.

  6. Since the societies of the various people of the region were closely related it's completely expected that their religions shared similarities.

  7. Recently they found a tablet written in hebrew dated 200-300 years before Christ that had a story about a savior to come and free the people. All the bible does is take the aspect of myth and old stories and reword them to their beliefs. Of course many of the old religions have done the same thing just look at hinduism. Hinduism was influenced by the aryans after they were forced out of the middle east.
