Isn't the idea of moving time forward an hour to make a day longer...?

... about the same kind of thinking that tells us that cutting the top off a blanket and sewing it on the bottom will keep your feet from getting cold?

  1. I remember them doing this during the War as it gave the Farmers extra time to get the Harvest of whatever they were growing picked. It was very Important because of the need for the vegetables because of the Rationing and they couldn't do anything once the light had gone because of the Blackout


  2. We spring forward and back so that during the summer (when there is more day light hours) we start work sooner, which means it stays lighter longer in the evening so we can enjoy the day light.

  4. The idea was to get an extra hour of sunlight and save electricity. And for Farmers to get an extra hour of work in as they had no electric lights outside.

    And it has nothing to do with how long it takes the earth to revolve, that is called leap year, when they add an extra day to February, Duhhhh.
