Question:

Isn't the "Fist Bump" Handshake the Best Idea since the Discovery of Penicillin?

In my job, I was frequently forced to stand in a line and shake hands with a parade of people. I had to endure sweaty hands that made me feel like wiping my own hands on my clothing. I had to endure some grips that felt like my hands were enclosed in a vise. I had to endure the limp handshake that felt like a handful of melted butter.

Now, I see Obama using the "fist bump" and I think it is a great idea for politicians or anyone forced to go through this procedure. Now, one doesn't have to worry about picking up every flu bug in the country....or something much worse. Just put out that fist and bump your good wishes. Seems like a darned good idea to me!

  1. Oh.....good grief -- next thing popular will be the "butt bump".

Frankly, call me old fashioned but a good hand shake means so much more --germs and all!!!!

And in my lifetime career, I shook many of hands and only remember if the were authentic....or Not!!!!

  2. Since I have been guilty of sweaty handshakes and have a grip like a vise that often forces me to offer up melted butter handshakes in order to avoid injuring someone, I suppose I need to learn the "fist bump." Count me in.
