Question:

Isn't the "don't ask, don't tell" policy the best way to go?

Come on, just admit it. g**s will never get full respect. There will always be religious freaks, rednecks, normal people everywhere that disrespect g**s and lesbians. The "don't ask, don't tell" policy is one of the few things that clinton did that I actually really liked, and doesn't it result in the least conflict?

  1. Clinton acknowledged it was a necessary stepping stone to full acceptance, not a proper policy.

I agree with him. Now it's time to get rid of it, and appreciate the willingness of all Americans who want to serve.

*** I see below we still have some maturing to do..so now isn't the time...wish it was.

  2. I think that it is the best most effective policy that will allow g**s to serve

Anyone who has ever served knows the close intimate quarters that are shared by soldiers

When we took showers in basic there was one pipe that came up and five shower heads attached to it

It you turned too sharply you bumped up with the naked guy beside you

I don't know if there is still co-ed basic anymore but my BCT was the first to try it

It did not work well, there was a lot of s*x going on for the environment

    I even got a littl

No matter what the sexual preference men are still men and for the most part ruled by our peckers at that age

The potential for sexual abuse or abuse of sexuality and the dissension in the ranks it can cause are too great

Don't ask don't tell is just another way of saying be g*y on your own time

It is easy enough to determine if a man and woman are in a potentially compromising situation

It is much harder to tell if two men are where they shouldn't be

  3. As long as people think that all g*y people are cowards and that only 'real' men and women can serve it is the best policy.
