Isn't there a number I can call to have my number taken off the list for courtesy callers?

I am getting bombarded with courtesy calls! How can I stop it?

Are you talking about tele-marketers?  Just call your phone company.  Sometimes there's a small monthly fee but, if you get a lot of them calling, it's worth it.

your line provider, i.e. BT or so is obliged to take you of the phone book etc. Saying that remember that most telesales companies etc who call up use a random digit calculating software, hence your number is most of the time chosen by chance. Good Luck!
