The best news team on television has spotted an uprooted tree and the water is all choppy and rough. Not much rain, though. Hey! Now we can start the astounding story of Hannah, the greatest storm of the century. Wow! More big wind coming your way! Wow!

For those of you above who don't find this question amusing because you live on the coast I can't help but ask , "Why do some folks who live on the coast act so surprised and devastated every time a hurricane hits?"  I used to live in a river town, but I didn't live in the river bottoms because I knew they flooded every few years.  Now that it flooded this last year, there are folks who live right by the river (and make good money) who didn't buy flood insurance.  Now, they are mad at the government (actually, just the GOP) for not helping them more when they had the chance to help themselves.  Let me guess: Mayor Ray Nagin will claim that the GOP lacks a heart for having its convention this week, even if it's abbreviated and raises private donations (instead of taxes) for those who chose to live below sea level.

  5. Let's see.  I don't think that Gustav rocks, but I will say thank God it happen during the Rep convention, that way there is money to help these towns.  I wish they was money to help the poor return home.

    As for as the coverage, I could care less what station I watch, they are all the same.
