In 2001, he served as his own one man pit crew during a Craftsman Truck Series race: he climbed out of his truck to change his own tires and fill his own gas tank. He also was noticed by doing this and helped by a fan.

In 2002, during a race at New Hampshire, Shepherd was stopping every five laps in the early moments. He was scuffing tires for pay from the big teams. NASCAR quickly put an end to it.

  1. You forgot to mention that the time he climbed out of his truck, he also sat down in his pit and ate a bag of potato chips and drank a soda, before returning to the race.

  3. I have alot of respect for Morgan, he's a good guy and he's had to endure quite a bit of c**p in his career, he maintained his poise and composure, and at his age still has the heart to go out and race, that's a great story, I didn't know that.

  4. Isn't He the UNCLE OF NASCAR'S MOST POPULAR DRIVER?
