Isn't this the case with the Sunni and the Shia'a?

I can't really recall the story.; I have to read that part again. But there was a part in the biography of the Prophet(PBUH) where he travelled to some place and two groups of people were told by him to meet him where he went. He told them that(this was during Zuhr time) that they can pray two rakats for zuhr and then continue traveling..and another group that it was better to pray the four rakat and then continue....and they bickered with each other because of it......so one group did it's plan and the other did theirs...and when they met with the Prophet..they asked which one of them were right..and the Prophet(PBUH) said you both were right

Now..as I ponder..I here Sunni and Shia bickering over which one of them is right..well according to my ears..I've only heard Sunni talk bad about Shia..I've never heard Shia say anything bad about Sunni..not my ears at leats. But in anycase..the messagae above...can't that apply here between the Sunni and the Shia.....you both r right...as for me..just to let you know...I'm Muslim only...I study the Quran and Sunna

  1. There are 3 points in your question that I would like to discuss after my answer

In fact, the story you had said can’t be applied on the differences between Sunni and Shiaa because the story is discussing a difference in applying “Ebadat” and the argument was settled by the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). On the other hand the difference between sunni & shiaa is a difference in “Akeda” = (believes & concepts) this differences took place after his death (PBUH). Sometimes it is not possible to apply the same solution on different problems. However, we can solve the problem by referring to Quran where we can find the answers for such arguments.

    The 3 points are:

1- The way of arguing with other and how to show your ideas and defend them.

2- Judging a whole group by the actions or opinions of one of its members.

3- The issue of differences between sunni and shiaa.

    1-

who ever our opponent is, we must keep attention for the following:

    a) always be polite and never insult the others

    b) don’t say things and accept them as facts. We must prove our opinion

    c) when we disagree with something, we have to prove our disagreement in a logical and accepted way

    d) listen to the others as they listen to us

    2-

don’t take the actions or opinions of a group’s member as a way for judging the whole group. To judge a group either you check the behaviour of different members of the group or it is better to study the concepts that the group believe to judge them.

    3-

Although I’m sunni, but this is not enough to convince others with my believes, so lets consider something that we all agree with. This will be Quran. Either you are a sunni or shiaa you must believe in Quran and you must follow its commands.

In fact, I was surprised when I made my search in Quran. I found that Allah accompanied obeying him by obeying his prophet Muhammed (PBUH) 11 times

    1- Quran 003-32

    2- Quran 003-132

    3- Quran 004-59

    4- Quran 005-92

    5- Quran 008-1

    6- Quran 008-20

    7- Quran 008-46

    8- Quran 024-54

    9- Quran 047-33

    10- Quran 058-13

    11- Quran 064-12

,So we can deduce that we have to follow all what our prophet Muhammed (PBUH) had said or done. This is called “his Sunna”. It is obvious that the people who practiced Islam in the most correct manner were the prophet’s companions, because he was guiding them all the time and they were able to ask him about every tiny aspect of their life.

As a result, we can conclude that all muslims must follow Quran and Sunna, and benefit from the experiences of the prohpet’s companions. A real muslim can’t deny the importance of Quran and Sunna. Also he can’t be doubtful of the companion’s faith. I’m sure that that all sunni muslims do this, but about shiaa??? That is the question, so if anyone has an answer or think that I’m wrong please tell me….

  2. its called sunni arrogance

  3. "And hold fast, ALL TOGETHER, by the Rope which Allah (streches out for you), and be NOT divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the Pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: that ye may be guided."

    [Qur'an 3: 103]

  4. Only Wahhabi's and Taliban-Sunnis trash s**+'ites. Mainly because they have a desire to dislike whoever disagrees with their views, spread lies and slander them (e.g. calling visitation of graves "grave worship" or that all s**+'ites abuse the sahaba) and willingly accept these lies.

Some people psychologically have a desire to be the-only people who are right, therefore, whatever they conclude is right makes others who disagree with  them "bad people".

    Pietism, Holier-than-thou, literally.

  5. You could extend the same reasoning to different religions... Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims- all of them want to make a better world. So really aren't all religions the same but taking a different path? If you say no, then why apply your logic to some and not to others?

Buddha said a similar story. There was an elephant with 6 blind men. Each man held a different part of the elephant and described it. The blind men started bickering with each other over what an elephant really is. In reality, they were all right, but only to a degree.

BTW, how are you following sunnah? Your sunnah is different to their sunnah. Maybe there are 6 different sunnahs like different parts of the elephant. Oops, some sunnahs say to kill people and others say to forgive people for the same crime, so they can't be the same. If only there was a book without error, without corruption, it could solve these problems, but who would ever follow that book?

  6. Why do we all hate each other?

  7. if u r only muslim why u think in schia and sunni subject???

  8. In their histories there is certainly a lesson for men of understanding. It is not a narrative which could be forged, but a verification of what is before it and a distinct explanation of all things and a guide and a mercy to a people who believe. (12:111)

    Holy Quran

    FTL is correct

  9. Its stupid for either Sunni or shia'a to speak badly about each other.

The story isn't at all what you said, shia'a and Sunni started after the prophet's death. the main feud started when both parties couldn't agree who should be in-charge.

For example shia'a wanted the prophet's relative Ali (karam allah wajhah) and the Sunni wanted Abu Baker (3alayhee alsalam)

The fight got deeper by time. now what Sunni proclaim to be the prophet's best friend, shia'a claim he was his enemy and so on. Both sides have their evidence.

For example Sunni believe that you must do each prayer in its time or you're sinning, shiaia have a different system when it comes, like you can pray it on time, but you can also pray two together (there is a system i duno it exactly).

the disagreement goes more into what they believe in. bcz as you already know, Muslims take half their religion from the sunna. Which is actions and sayings by the prophet that came to us thro ppl. We believe in different ppl so we have different sunna

I'm a Sunni and i herd shia'a speak badly of Sunni and vice versa, both way its stupid. we're all Muslims. Why let few differences part us apart?

you shouldnt waste you're time about this. i know many ppl who waste their times lookin for the other side's mistake, when they know nothing about their side!

  10. Very good point. Always distrust any people who talk bad about others. Stay with the people who praise God and don't worry about other people who have some different opinion about minor issues.

Most Sunnis, who get busy, pray dhuhr, asr, maghrib and Isha all together after the sun went down. Is that more honorable than combining Dhuhr and Asr while the sun was still up?????

  11. sunni/ shia split is a long story based on politics...but watch now how much fitna and c**p people are going to give u as an answer :) peace brother

@Adam..sorry buddy, i didnt mean YOU, its just whole lot of "Muslims" here do that....if u dont believe me, go look at some previous questions and answers

@Adam: what the heck u talking about??? maybe Muawiyah was good during the Prophets life..but not after, and not even his son, and you want Muslims to praise these hypocrites? who are we gonna defend next huh? Pharoh? Hitler? Saddam Hussein? Stalin? who else? gimme a break

  12. No,i dont agree with you ,

shia'ism has their own creed which does not math with tawheed

muslim only calls Allah (swt) for help but these shias call ya Ali ,ya hussain,

Edit :@ FTL!! you curse yazid we say nothing to stop fitnah ,

you curse all the sahaba ,we tolerated ,just to avoid fitnah ,

but when u curse and used the words i dont like to type for all momineens mother ,No Wayyyyyyyyyy

Over all muslims dead body ,bcoz Aisha & hafsa (ra) r our mothers.

More beloved than our real mothers .

Just think how u feel if some one slander your mother,

If u r really sincere to stop the fitnah ,burn all those books which cary insult and abuses for our beloved mothers.

their concept of imamt is oposite of muslims concept of khatam ul nabiyeen.

muslim believes prophet Mohammad (saw) was the last nabi ,there will be no prophet after him ,and there is no more devine guaidance ,

but shias invented the concept of imamah in which imam gets devine guidance ,

so there r many many more major issues is generated bcoz of this concept of imamat.

they started cursing the most pious and important ones, like Abu bakr ,omar and wives of prophet ,

so how can u say that both r right?

    Edit,@ FTL ,u r asking the question ,haven't u read your books .

i think u didnt get time ,u were just busy in finding faults in muslims 'books.

    Go read your books !!!!

    May Allah open your eyes,Ameen

    Edit

Its not the mater of so called Wahabis or non wahabi ALL MUSLIMS CAN SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR MOTHERS ,AISHA & HAFSA (RA)

  13. Ali should not have been Calipha ok, we will agree not to make fitna, Hassan should not have been calipha ok we agree not to create fitna haram, Hussain should not have been Calipha ok we agree not to make fitna, Muawiya was a companion of the prophet (s) ok we agree not to make fitna. BUT if you want to praise YAZID!!!!!  then over my DEAD BODY!!!

Otherside when have you seen me curse Aisha (ra) ?

Edit: you lose all credibility and your ignorance oozes out of you in every question or answer, and specially when you praise Muawiya and Yazid.

  14. Well, since all anyone can say now is fitnah and c**p...

What did you mean by peace?! Heh.

Sects are forbidden in Al Qur'an. You're right, all the sects need to get over themselves and keep to the Book of Allah. The divisions they have are in their own writings, so the problem is obvious.

Edit: Saw some of the posts...Had to point out that yes,m s**+'a do those things, but Sunni's do as well.

Those Books of hadiths are full of horrible slanders against the Messenger and his companions, FAR worse than any danish newspaper cartoons. They're a weapon against the muslims. We can't blame non-muslims for calling the Prophet pedophile, womanizer, torturer.

Its worse than slander. Its all in the ahadis we take for a necessary part of religion.

I recently heard one respected scholar, an imam, say that 80% of Islam is in the Hadiths.

Muhammad's sunnah isn't there. And making disgusting insults against him and the people he loved into religious duty is no way to honour them.

  15. We know what is correct following Quran and Sunnah and that is what many people do.

    BUT is this correct

    *Cursing companions/mother of believers

    *Inflicting oneself

*12 Imams where does it state in Quran to follow them....?

Now I know not all do this, but in this section many do.  I could go on but we did not say Shia are in the wrong, we all have our differences indeed but never have I met 'Muslims' who have so much hatred filled in their heart for the companions, and deem to believe we Sunni/Wahhabi's are going to h**l as be follow Ibless!etc wow!

    ----------

Which biography did you read, The Sealed Nectar? if yes what page so I can look it up

  16. FITNAH -NO THANK YOU

all questions about conflicts between muslims r FITNAH

  17. More questions about s**+'a and Sunni.

Surely this can't be good for the health.

My Advice to you Brother is that Study the Qur'an and Sunna well.Avoid the Shia/Sunni debates, they will fight each other till one or the other or both are wiped off the face of the Earth.

They are ignorant of each other and they dont understand anything, whatever they believe is what they have been told by some scholar, website, imam, Ayatollah and that becomes the word of God for these people.

  18. No, u r wrong. This is not the case.Shia aqeedah is completely different then Sunni aqeedah.Shias are involved in major sin (shirk) like grave worshiping etc. This is the main reason why Sunnis stay away from them.We dont unite with the Mushriks.

'I am just a Muslim' is a stupid remark.Coz it doesnt make any sense.Shias curse prophets wife, mother of the believers Aisha (ra). Are you also one of them? You just cant be a 'Muslim" .You gotta choose one from the following:

1.Curse the Sahabas and prophets wives

                            OR

2.Defend the Sahabas and prophets wives.
