Isn't this too harsh?

Okay, I'm 13. I'm not allowed to date till I'm 16. I don't care about that part. The part I care about is my mom said when I do, the guy will have to get a urine test, blood test, criminal background check, and his fingerprints on record. Isn't that too harsh? No one's gonna want to date me :(

sorry to say but sounds like ur mom needs to take a chill pill and u should tell her that that is so stupid to have the guy do that u are her daughter so she should trust that u choose a great guy that doesn't need all that c**p done to make sure he is ok for u

that is WAY to much..i understand as a mom because my daughter growing scares me too but wow..she needs to calm down like a lot. .i guess they do have a point though if he really really like you he will..but it will also scare guys away..i hope your mom lightens up by the time it is ready for you to date if not i am so sorry

When the time comes I don't think she'll go that far.  I'm sure she means that she'll be keeping a close eye on you and the guys you date.  It's just what Mom's do.  Best advise I can give you, is to stay trustworthy...things will go a lot smother that way.

when i first started dating at 15, my parents said pretty much the same thing, but they only took down the guys tag number and car type just incase anything happened. once i was about 16 they stopped doing that [thank god]

Thats how she feels now, I wouldn't freak unless she is still saying this when your 16 and  following threw with it. You are going to mature more by the time your 16 and hopefully she will see that and trust you and the fact that your going to make the right decision regardless of the guy you bring home.
