Each time there is a debate this retrograde body is wheeled out to claim they speak for more than themselves over issues such as imprisoning people, holding terrorists, police powers etc. How are these apes funded? Does anyone on here actually agree with them and their soppy ideals?

  1. until we stand up for ourselves, groups like Liberty will rule by minority

representation, there are more minority groups shaping this country than enough, and unless we stop moaning and start reacting to depose groups that give a biased and un christian opinion,we will be ruled by incompetence the Labour party and islamic lead foreign insurgents that will evaporate the British race before our very eyes.

  2. Liberty (sic, a misnomer) is a sanctimonious, self-righteous movement which is self-serving and complete waste of space and time. The BBC has its own reasons for promoting Liberty. They are mostly journalists who want to be able to slander people and govts whenever and wherever they like without fearing any curtailment. Thus they see in Liberty a defender of their self-indulgent activities. That's why the BBC has lost any credibility with most licence-payers and people abroad.

  3. I agree - they always have liberty spouting of about some terrorists

human rights - never any concern about the general publics human right not to be blown up !

  4. Totally agree with you. There are many other bodies as well. They will definitely receive some Government funding. The real problem is with the BBC. It has a left wing agenda, and therefore, any body that holds views that accords with its own gets wheeled out to lecture the rest of us. They are not democtatically elected, and have no more right to be there than any one else.

I also object to all these Government funded quangos, because we elect Politicians to make decisions.

  5. Who in their right mind would want to supress anyone expressing an alternative point of view?, totalitarian dictators, that's who.

The problem the BBC has is it tries to hold the government to account for its actions (as any good news broadcaster should) and when things go badly the government of the day accuses the BBC of being anti government.

No matter who is in power they will hate the BBc for pointing out their shortcomings, a good government would welcome their policies being subject to criticism and debate.

Thank goodness there are people out there ready to challenge your ridiculous opinions.

  6. Liberty have the same right to voice their opinion as you do.  Whether you agree with them or not is irrelevent.

Although I do sympathize with the accusation that the BBC does give them favourable airtime, Liberty are valuable in giving an alternate point of view - the right view is not always necessarily the popular one.

  7. I'm sick of the BBC period, terrible network, very biased.
