  1. hydrogen is not dangerous. in fact, you ingest it every day! water is made from the fusing of two hydrogen molecules to one oxygen molecule.there is 155 Tg of hydrogen in our atmosphere.

  2. Yep, that's what downed the Hindenburg. Any kind of fuel can be dangerous. Gasoline blows up, too, if you light it on fire. Otherwise, your car wouldn't run on it. Not too many cars blow up, though, because it's controlled. My 2 cars run on natural gas, which also can blow up. Hasn't happened yet, though. I don't worry about it. That's what the engineers are supposed to take care of when they design fuel systems on vehicles (make them fairly idiot-proof)!

  3. No more so than gasoline.  The handling methods have to be a little different, but it could be no more hazardous than gasoline or natural gas.

  4. If your referencing it in relation to vehicles, remember gasoline is flammable as well.

    In my opinion Hydrogen is less dangerous because if it is released out of a tank it will quickly rise into the atmosphere. Gasoline on the other hand will pool and if ignited, can be a huge fire bomb.

  5. Its flamable.

  6. yah, i think there was too much of it, it all went down in less than a couple of seconds, its like 9/11 in 3seconds its horrible

  7. All fuels are dangerous including dry wood.

    safety measures are to be taken with hydrogen too.

    thnks

  8. The common misconception is "I'll be driving around on top of a hydrogen bomb" since the gas is stored under pressure.  The container that holds the pressurized gas is so strong that you would have to hit something at really high speeds to puncture it, which I think will turn you into a bug on the windshield regardless of what fuel you're using.

  9. Yeah, pretty much.  I would not walk around with it in my back pack.

  10. Sure.  If you expose hydrogen to an open flame, it is dangerous.

    OTOH, so is gasoline.

  11. Yes, but there are ways to make it less dangerous;

    1. You can store it in an inert form using an oxide of iron as a carrier

    2. You can bubble carbon dioxide through it to make natural gas.

    Any fuel is dangerous if you don't handle it properly.
