  1. With regards to the Northern hemisphere and specifically Ireland here are a few examples.

During the week former irish international David Quinlan( he got two caps in Japan in 2005 when the top players were on Lions duty) was forced to retire from the game due to injury at the age of 29, he was playing with Northamton for the last couple of years having previously played for leinster.

However David has an interesting career ahead of him, not only does he hold a law degree from Ireland he has also completed a masters in criminolgy in Cambridge University!

Tony O'Reilly former irish rugby international is one of the top 5 richest men in Ireland ( 3rd I think), i'm not sure exactly sure what he does, he is some sort of business man who makes large scale investments in all sorts of ventures, whatever it is he is worth hundreds of millions.

  2. Bill Campbell (ex-Wallaby lock) is a doctor

Cameron Lillicrap (ex- Wallaby prop) is a physiotherapist for the Wallabies

Brendan Cannon (Wallaby hooker who retired from the game last week) is studying for his MBA & already has a business degree.

I'm sure there are loads more examples.......
