  1. People failed to understand that God is within and as well without.

  2. The reason is simple. Britain is a post Christian society. It was a church going society some time ago. Then church membership fell as more and more people became less religious. So it looks like there will be very few churches left,

because although many people would call themselves "Christian", they would not participate in any church services

    as such.

So to answer your question- no it is not surprising.

  3. No I'm not surprised, people leave because they are not getting their spiritual food, more will follow!

  4. I am an atheist and  happy with this; however what concerns me is that Islam is taking the place of Christians in the UK. Christianity is bad enough, Islam is much worse

  5. Mostly because of the spread of the Muslim religion there.  Not to mention, most ministries focus on Eastern Europe too, which I find most frustrating.  Most Westerners think that the UK is so full of Christians already that they don't need help, but the truth is that they are in danger too.  Then again, it's the last days so a lot of people are in danger.

  6. May be the religion has lost its main purpose of kindling spirituality of people where they experience unity, equality and peace with all beings. Now, all institutionalised religion lost in ritualism and  is doing everything else(like discrimination, hatred, politics and so on) except open up the spiritual domain of people.

  7. Only one of the churches that have closed in my area has been converted into flats....the rest have been converted into Sikh Temples and Mosques....so basically under new management is all..

  8. my church closed down because a motorway was going through it, but it was rebuilt again, and its safer to get too now no major road to cross, and the bus stops outside it on sundays.

  9. It's not even true, Anil. For every large, old (expensive to run and maintain) building that closes down, smaller house groups spring up.

The church is in no danger of disappearing from the UK. However, it may go underground.

The church always grows under pressure.

  10. Brits on the whole r least interested in spiritual matters.

In a way I do not blame them as all Abrahamic religions do not satisfy human intelligence when religions claim nonsense like

    1-only their's the way

2-they r superior to other religions

3- all is forgiven if u r of a certain faith and others regardless of virtues will burn in h**l.

  11. That's sad, I didn't know that. I live in the US.

  12. Lack of funds due to low membership?

  13. Some times is the members of the Congregation who are not paying they offerings and thides, to  keep the church going, and also people are to bussy doing other  things and just don't want to Assemble any more,  as the Lord  commanded, and in some churches people are not happy, because, their own people are messing with them, so they are seeking other places  and  othes believe to find inner peace.;;; God bless!! peace out.
