Isnt saying Mary is Queen of Heaven dangerously close to calling her a goddess?

Think about it, if it was Heaven's Queen then she would be a goddess.

So isn't saying Queen of Heaven dangerously close to calling her a goddess?

The Church does not give birth to Christ, but originates from Him. If Christ is God incarnate, and Mary is His mother, than Mary is the mother of God. Since the Church comes from Christ, Mary is the mother of all Christians as well. We see her depicted in Scripture as a woman in the sky with a crown of twelve stars... What else are we to call her but the Queen of Heaven? This does not make her a goddess. It makes her someone we are to look to and imitate because of her faith in God, just like St. Paul, or Moses, or King David. We are not to worship her, and you're right to say that we should be very careful not to place her above God, but she should still be remembered in honor, and not merely as some ''earthly vessel'' who ''only gave birth to Jesus.'' She should be remembered as the Queen of Heaven, and we must follow her example of feeding Christ and clothing Him, inviting Him in, etc. And how do we do that?

I am sorry but you are finding that reference in Jeremiah. It's in reference to False Gods.. The Queen of Heaven is not Mary. You should pray to God, not false Gods.. The Queen of Heaven is a False God that those particular people were worshiping.

No, because she is not worshiped by the Church or its followers.  I suppose you could call her a princess if you like. Revelation (12:1) A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman  clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.  Rev(12:5)  She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod.  We see the body of a woman- her feet and her head with a crown who gives birth to the Christ.  Usually a woman with a crown on her head could be called a queen and since she is in heaven... you get "queen of heaven." Since we also see her body in heaven it must have gotten there somehow. We could deduce it was assumed into heaven by the power of God.  

  Remember from Gen (3:14-15)  Then the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, you shall be banned from all the animals and from all the wild creatures; On your belly shall you crawl, and dirt shall you eat all the days of your life.  I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel."  We have here a serpent, a woman, and an offspring from the woman. In Rev 12:4 says     Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.  She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod.  We see again a serpent, a woman and an offspring from the woman.  We see the devil, Mary, and Jesus in the first book and last book of the bible.  

   Peter and Paul do not refer to Mary as a queen as the book of Revelation implies.  However the book of Revelation was written around the year 95 or 96 and Peter and Paul are both thought to have died around the year 64.  So they would not have read the book of Revelation before they died.  Now that we have the bible and look back upon it and reflect on all the things that happened why should we not gain more insights into God's plan?  Do you not realize things about Christianity now that you did not 5 years ago, 10 years ago?  Imagine what we can continue to learn for 2000 years of study of the Scriptures.  Is it not conceivable that our limited minds may take many years to gain a deeper and deeper understanding of the mysteries of God.  Or to you is God so limited He could be completely understood in one generation of followers?  You tell me.

Mary was the mother of Jesus and His half - brothers and sisters.  She had several children, we do not know how many because the girls are not named.

Mary was a good child when she became the mother of Jesus.  Mary was of the tribe of Aaron, the priestly tribe.  Joseph was a descendant of David.  Mary and Joseph were normal human beings with human frailties.  If Mary had not sinned, we would not have needed Jesus because we all could live a sinless life if she did.  We all sin and come short except Jesus, the God/man.  Mary was humanity.

The woman who gave birth to Jesus is certainly not a goddess. Nor is she some queen of heaven. Truth is, she is just another sinner like the rest of us. But where she differs from most is that she is now trusting in her Saviour, whereas most here will never know the Saviour.
