Isnt the last seat on a roller coaster the fastest?

I always thought that the last seat on a roller coaster was the fastest on the ride but ive hurd different. My boyfriend says that they all go the same or if anything, the first seat would be the fastest. My step dad says that its all the same. so what one is it?

no the front seat is usually the best seat

The front feels pretty fast since your the first to see everything. BUT the back feels fast too since you've seen everyone drop in front of you.

i think that the back goes the fastest because when your in the front and your going down a big hill you have to wait for the rest of the train behind you which makes you go down slowly until the whole train gets to the top of the uphill part.

the back is the best part.

it is faster.. in a way.

like what if you were in the front and your gooing up a big hill.. well you have to wait for the rest of the train to go up the hill before you can go down. so it feels slower.

but i love sitting in the front if i want to view everything. but i also love sitting in the back

I think that you get more airtime in the back, but in the front it is very rough.

Since all the cars are connected in one train, if the cars were going different speeds, they'd break apart or crash. they are all going the same speed.

BUT

The front and the back give the ILLUSION of going faster, hence the reason people lov it better.*

I hate the back seats of roller coasters because your body is flying all over the place

The back seat doesn't actually go the fastest, but it's the most intense. You get lurched in every direction on the all the hills and corkscrews because the rest of the coaster has already built up velocity. If you can survive the back seat of a roller coaster, you can survive in front easily.
