say u have -x^2+1=0 so first u do -x^2+1=-1 or

do u divide the negative out or have to root it first same thing for 3x^2+1=0

and -3x+1=0 isolate for x

    subtract 1 from both sides. You must always perform the same operation on both sides of the equality

    -x²+1 -1 = 0 -1

    add

    -x² = -1

    multiply both sides by -1

    x² = 1

    take square root both sides

    x = √1

    x = ± 1

    3x²+1=0

    3x² = -1

    x² = -1/3

    x = ± √(-1/3)

    -3x+1=0

    3x = 1

    x = 1/3
