  1. No one does isometrics any more.

    Today people do plyometric exercises.

  2. what is isometric mean?

  3. Isometric strength is what will determine your running speed. The fastest runners don't collapse at the ankle/knee when sprinting which means they have huge isometric strength to support the body at ground contact. To get fast you also need to run short top speed sprints all the time. Do isometric calf raises, leg press and hamstring curls. Do iso's by raising the weight with both legs and holding position with one. Hold the weight with no movement for about 10-30 seconds. Add weight as you get stronger. You can get the best plyometric work just by running sprints.
