Israel Vasquez vs Chris John?

Aside from Juan Manuel Marquez, Tommy Browne and Derrick Gainer, who has Chris John fought? He has only ever fought outside of Indonesia 3 times (one of those was when he went to Australia to beat Browne). Considering the lack of quality opposition he has faced, he has a rather modest looking record of 22 knockouts/ stoppages from 41 wins. It's tough to say whether or not he was given any of the decisions in his career (I doubt it, as in nearly all cases, he was the superior boxer). But it does beg the question...if a fight with Vasquez happened in, say, Texas, LA or Vegas, bearing in mind John apparent aversion to travelling to the US for big fights, how would he fare from not having home advantage and not having a partisan crowd behind him? Would it affect John negatively?

Vasquez, on the other hand, has been in fights with a much better calibre of opposition than John, even if he has been beaten 4 times. Although he could feasibly get up to 126 for a fight against John, would be the quicker of the 2 boxers and has a 1 1/2 inch reach advantage over John, Vasquez would be giving up height, natural size/ strength and punching power. I can't ever recall Vasquez being decked as a pro, but bearing in mind that John is the stronger, and the two probably have equally goodchins (John was decked by Gainer), the plan for Vasquez would be to use his speed and box John. But would Vasquez heed to that? Vasquez is Mexican, and is known for loving a war, and getting stuck in. I expect the power of John to make the difference. Vasquez drags John into a give and take war, but John withstands the onslaughts of Vasquez and lands more of the cleaner shots to take a well-earnt split decision. This one could feasibly go either way (much like the first Vasquez-Rafael Marquez fight was, before it was waved off), so expect there to be a rematch.

I don't see too many little guys hanging with Vasquez, after the Marquez fight's, I got nothing but respect for Israel.
