  1. There are lots of Israelis here and what you heard is true, there are a lot in the San Fernando Valley.  The SFV has very large groups of people from other Middle Eastern countries, also. Israelis don't come only to L.A.  There are plenty in New York and in many other areas.  However, L.A. is certainly a very popular destination for people from all over the world.

I suppose Israelis come for the same reason as everyone else:  our wonderful climate and the opportunities here.

It is an expensive place and you need a car.  Hopefully you have someone here to help you get started, or a lot of money, or both.  You seem to be (from how you write, anyway) fluent in English and that will certainly help.

  2. Welcome.  You will love it here.  There are many Israelis here in the San Fernando Valley.  Check out Tarzana or Reseda  apartments along Clark Street.  The weather is very much like home.

  3. Oh yes, you will find lots, so don't worry.  To prove it to yourself, go to zabasearch.com and look for some common Israeli names in California.  There will be your proof.  I have worked with many Israelis in LA over the years.

  4. Yes, there are PLENTY of Israelis here. The south part of the Valley is a good place to start (sherman oaks is very good). You also have many sections of the west side of LA, along Fairfax and Olympic.

Here's an interesting fact. LA Unified schools takes a floating holiday EVERY single year, right around September/October. By an amazing coincidence, it ALWAYS falls on Rosh Hashana. Since LAUSD gets paid per pupil per day, Jewish kids were taking the day off, so LAUSD made it a "pupil-free day" without calling it a holiday.
