Israel’s Shahar Zubari continues his lead over RS:X Men fleet: 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta
Israel’s Shahar Zubari showed great sailing skills on the third day proceedings of the 2012 Delta Lloyd Regatta and was able to retain is lead over the RS:X Men’s fleet with11 points after participating in eight races. The overall result board of the RS:X
Men’s fleet also includes a discarded race.
The Israeli claimed the overall lead from the beginning of the event with the help of some outstanding sailing display on the Medemblik waters. He began his regatta campaign back-to-back bullets and a second finish to hit the top podium spot.
The second day was almost as same as the first because the Israeli sailor cruised into the top in the third race to add another bullet in his scores. However, the second race of Day 2 did not go according to his expectations and he tumbled down to sixth
position.
Meanwhile, he came back strong in the third race and claimed one more bullet to remain on top of the standings. The third day proceedings began with a tremendous bullet finish on the Medemblik waters.
The Israeli sailor was feeling very confident at this point as he had a huge difference from the second placed sailor, compatriot Omer Sofer.
The final race of Day 3 was a lower finish for Zubari as he crossed the finish line on fourth position to formulate the final results at the end of the day which showed his name on top of the fleet.
