On Monday, I begin my senior year of high school. I have gone to Catholic schools since preschool, and this is my final year. In April the bishop of our diocese retired, and a new one was instated. The new bishop has mandated that every student in Catholic schools in the diocese must attend Mass in school at least once per week, and my school is mandating that everyone has to go 3 days a week--Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
This is not going to work out. I am not Catholic and one of my pet peeves is being forced to go to Mass, especially since I don't believe in it. Our school masses generally consist of "If you're not Catholic you burn in h**l. If you're g*y you're a horrible person worthy of death", and since I am g*y and not Catholic it's going to be a living h**l for me. Our school chaplain (who is a bear) does not do these masses, a different priest from the diocese does it. Our chaplain is great, he's really open and I know I can go to him with anything.
To avoid going completely bonkers, is there any way I could get out of this/deal with this? What can I do...I'm desperate...
