Question:

Issues with connect to wireless at work?

I have a unsecured wireless connection here at my house. But at work, we have a secured wireless connection. (I'm running Vista).

Everytime I go to work, I have to restart my computer a few times just to connect to the internet. Now, my computer knows the password for the secured network, so it's not like I can't connect becuase of that.

Also, I have a Netgear, and work Belkin. There are 2 other computers at work that have no issues connecting (they run XP) Do you think my issue is because I don't have a secured connection at home, and when I get to work, it's flipping out (lack of a better term)?

  1. Make it easy on yourself.  Instead of trying to analyze the problem, eliminate it.  Install NetSetMan in your laptop (it's free).  then you just choose home or work (or whatever you name each configuration) and the program resets everything (including printers) to that setting.

  2. Do you have your computer programmed to log onto the home system whenever it is turned on? it might be conflicting and trying to find your home when you are at work even though it knows how to get on at work.
