  1. Wow sounds like you all need to communicate on a different level. From one extreme to the next is not good for anyone in any situation. Does your Mom see a counselor? Maybe she should, bribing kids to do things is not the way. Screaming and yelling never works either.

    Good luck

  2. Wow 4 hours of swimming in one day I hope this is not your expected daily routine.  However if you are a competative swimmer you should practice daily at least a little...  Maybe someday you will become rich from swimming...

  3. i have similar issues with my mom. you just have to know in you heart you did nothing wrong and that maybe she is dealing with things and the way she vents is by venting on you. just try to get away from her when she goes to crazy wacko mood and if you must stay just breathe and channel your emotions and later talk to her bout it good luck

  4. Maybe she was just really stressed and you made it worse by telling her you dont want to swim. It happens a lot in my house.

  5. Is she trying to live all her hopes and dreams through you?

Call her bluff and say you're glad she said no more swimming because you've decided to get into a rock band instead.  Watch her squirm.

  6. She meant well when she was asking you to practice. She wants you to win. But I understand you too. Rest is important too. Just talk to her and say that you understand she wants good for you. but you were tired.

Also you remember one thing that if you are a competitive swimmer then you need the stamina and a strong will power where being tired does not affect your decision.
