  1. I would think accomodation would be your biggest problem as it would be more expensive than other cities of turkey

but yes I think a person could get by on 1500 euros

you would need to rent an apartment(its not enough for a hotel)

what about laundry, and dishes, laundry(dishes by hand?, and you could use laundry mats there are some(few)

  2. pakistan!! she is talking about istanbul turkey

anyway , yes its enough its like 3000 turkish lira but at the same time it depends if u will rent a home or staying in a  hotel , or u r just talking about pocket money and food?

so minimum for  a house in a acceptable nice place is 700 turkish lira according to the place u choose and how big will be the home.

and the rest will be for food and transportation , just keep urself away from taxis coz its soo expensive, better to take buses.

  3. If you can find a cheap accomodation than it will be enough.

But it is hard to find a cheap place in popular and decent istanbul neighborhoods.

  4. It's a decent salary, but it really depends on your lifestyle. If you plan on renting an apartment, generally you will go through an 'emlak' (real estate agent) and pay a month's deposit, 1 month's rent, and 1 month commission to the emlak. That can add up to a lot of money when you first come to Istanbul! My apartment costs 900 YTL/month (2 bedrooms, furnished) but it took a long time to find this. Most people I know pay between 500-1500 YTL a month for their apartments. Istanbul is a huge city so a lot depends on where you want to live, if you want to live alone or with roommates, and if you want/need a furnished apartment.

If you cook for yourself, food shouldn't be a problem. Fruits and vegetables are quite cheap. Restaurants vary, like any city. If you want to go out and eat a "fancy" meal, be prepared to pay for it!

Transportation is easy, as there are many ways to get around the city. Just try to live near wherever you are working, otherwise you risk spending a lot of time in traffic. Taxis are more expensive and are infamous for trying to cheat passengers any way they can. You're better off on the bus or the Metro.

1500 euro isn't bad, but if you want to have a crazy, wild lifestyle and go out a lot, you'll find you might need more. If you go out less often, you may be able to save money with the salary. It depends on you! :-)
