First the 20 million dollar failure of the virtual fence, Bush's E-Verify plan, in AZ the 40 million in law suits on the Sheriff who thinks his job is chasing down dishwashers and landscapers, and now the Self Deport program.

I'd much rather see my tax dollars go into immigration enforcement than be spent on any illegal alien, except to deport them. Frankly, I think we should seize all property of an illegal to pay for that deportation and use whatever is left over to increase border patrol.

Yes, almost every dollar is feeding, clothing, housing and taking care of  sick  mexican immigrants.

Whats $17 billion compared to $2.6 trillion (initially) for amnesty?

I can't even begin to guess how much is spent of their legal defense after breaking our laws, but of course they didn't know it was wrong.

The amount you name is small compared to how much is paid out every year to legal and illegal mexican immigrants. 1/5 of immigrant households are enrolled in welfare programs compared with 13.,3% of native households.

It has all failed because they DON'T REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!! Why would they? Did you know that Hispanics put 15 billion dollars into Arizona last year and that figure is projected to rise by 2%? There is NO way to know which of those dollars comes from illegal vs legal. We did not get to where we are now by really wanting to close the borders. 12 million or more illegals, 45 million legal Hispanics, how many of those NOW legal Hispanics are first or second generation? In another 10-20 years all of the children born to illegal immigrants now will be voting, working, paying taxes, contributing to social security, does ANYONE really think the government really wants them out?
