  1. walked into a village newsagent shop, about 2 days after the event... she was still on the front pages.

I made a remark to the man behind the counter

"she's been dead 2 days, why is that old cow still on the front page"

It was the first media-driven mourning that I had ever seen

for the first couple of days, she was just another dead celeb, but - as the media started hyping up the grief - it soon became a celebration of national mourning.

by the next week there were memorial books all over the place - in supermarkets and libraries.... it was a crazy time

it was an eye opener - how something so trivial could be ramped up and cause public hysteria

I couldnt help but think of the hysteria at hitlers rallies.

in the end she was just another spoilt celeb with human failings...... a tragedy for her family, but she meant less than nothing to me

  2. my impression of her was, a lovely person, but a troubled person. She was giving, loving, and someone who identified with the suffering of people. I think she married to young and got swallowed up by the royal machine. She made some mistakes, but that only made her seem more real and human to the people of her country. She had style and class, was fun loving and had a wicked sense of humor. She raised her sons well, and tried to keep them as normal as possiable amid the rules of the royal family.

Do I think she got a raw deal , and there were some questions about her death? Yes, I still have some doubts that they tried hard to save her.

  3. She was a lovely woman.  I was lucky enough to meet her once.  A true lady and an inspiration to us all.

  4. My memories of her are mainly of her landmine campaign and also the fact I couldn't watch my cartoons when I woke up that morning 10years ago (i loved the Xmen cartoons).

I also think we will never truly know what happened because even if we do lots of people will think it is false anyway, and would ask for more investigations etc.

  5. I have always seen her as a boring, self centred, manipulative spoilt rich woman !

  6. I just saw her in the media...I read about her in her bibliography and some were even from others.

I couldn't forget how she looked lilke after the crash..imagine how frightful an accident could be...without exclution..

<---- I changed my hair into short and blond as to extend my respect and memory of her..esp. on today's 10th anniversary...

  7. My memories...

I thought she was pretty good looking and wouldn't have said no....

  8. there are several people who have far too much to lose to have the truth about her assassination, come out. EVER

i believe she was killed either by accident or by design.

    i saw her once.

at an official function she attended to give a talk about her charity work back in the early 90s.

it was difficult for all involved as diana stood at the podium & sobbed her heart out, she could not contain her hurt anymore.

we weren't allowed to approach her, a stunned silence went around the posh people who sat staring & did nothing!

it was one of the worst situations i've ever been in & i will never forget it.

putting 2-&-2 together now, i can tell she at that time realised she was being side-lined by the royal family & charles, she'd served her purpose, produced a heir or 2 & now it was time to step out of the limelight.

the saddest thing is she really loved charles she got caught up in the whole princess thing & who could blame her?

she was used & abused, so i don't think the truth will ever come out it would embarrass the royal family beyond repair.

  9. Diana was only 4  years older than me, when she married her prince, she was a virgin. Her husband cheated on her before they married, he continued to have an affair with his mistress during his marriage, even calling her during his honeymoon. What woman in this world could have coped with that under public scrutiny. She was a strong woman who campaigned for many causes. She had a "human touch" which hopefuly her sons will continue in her name.

  10. I was only 3 when she died, but i know that she was a wonderful lady.  My mom always would talk about her and all the wonderful things that she did when i was groowing up.

  11. A serial attempted thief of other women's husbands

  12. I was hit very hard when I heard she had died, I never would have expected to be devestated over the death of someone I did not even know...but I was.

As I grew up and saw her on TV I always used to wish I could be her friend....she was stunning and the first Royal to break with convention over her parenting techniques....she loved the boys so much. I still see them in their little black suits waiting for the plane to bring her home from France the day after the crash.

  13. A clothes horse who knew how to be photographed.

The grief that this country showed beggars belief and still it goes on.

As to what happened: She got in a car with a drunk driver and didn't wear a seat belt. End of story.

  14. That my life was a car wreck and it hasn't changed.

  15. Who really knows Diana personally?

All we see on TV are the good bits

  16. Yawn...well and truly time to move on from our bourgeois fantasy of the 'People's Princess'.

  17. She was beautiful a princess that had the common touch but at the end of the day what else could she be but a humanitarian. There was and isn't no conspiracy the crash was caused by a man who should not have been driving, and a couple who should have worn seatbelts no one is infallible.

  18. She was a poor little rich girl with too much money, not enough to do and the most expensive public relations agent in the country, hence the obscene media hype about her

  19. In my mind she was most beautiful. She was pleasant and, except for her disagreements with the "Firm (Charles included)", seemed to care about people - especially those in need or who were unable to do things for themselves.

I was shocked when she was killed in that car crash.

No, I don't think we'll ever know what REALLY happened because I think there were cover-ups on the French side as well as the English side (and especially in "The FIRM").

I think that we should let her rest in peace and stop bringing all the hurt up before her sons. Let them have a chance to live a normal life (as much as you can in Royalty) - but I hope "The FIRM" doesn't get their hooks into the minds of the sons.

AND........... I hope Kate researches her likely future - else she could be the next casualty.

  20. Memories of her: Her unrequited love for her husband. Her love for her children which she was proud to display.  Her love for all humans everywhere which radiated from her and made others feel special.  Her failings - which she had - just like the rest of us!

We will never know the real truth as it would be a 'world-wide scandal' if it ever was revealed and the end of the Monachy.  I feel so sorry for the two young Princes having to be part of that family.   Would you like it if your Dad had a life-long affair with a 'less than reputable' woman like Camilla - then your Mum dies tragically and you are groomed to see 'the other woman' Camilla as your wonderful step-mother?  Move over Fairy-Tales Grimm - it doesn't really get much worse than that in childrens nightmares does it!

  21. I knew that she was a truly wonderful lady.. I was only 7 when she died, so I don't know much.... She did extraordinary things and I think people look up to her :) She will be missed deeply.... I'm just angry at the paps, when the car crash happened they just stood there taking photos while she was dying, who to tell maybe she could still be alive now if the paps think with their heads and not about money!!

  22. She launched a campaign against land mines that was largely successful.

She cheated on her husband and eventually divorced him.

She died in a car crash with her new lover because their driver was drunk and going over 100 miles an hour to escape the media.

  23. Hi from France ♫

I liked Diana however I can't have memories of her, I really don't know her except from the news ( Tv etc ... )...

    Have a nice day,

    Cat.

  24. I always said "If she ever gets to be Queen she'll be a cow!" - and she didn't even wait to become Queen before my prophesy came true ! ! !

  25. She was loved by many and had a big impact in France

  26. did not and do not give a rats buttt to anything but that enters my world. your a  dumsh** looking at celebs.... I'm much better than all them for I have self-esteem unlike you, but you are lowest of life forms to idolize something you read or was told or saw a picture of.

    Get a life!

  27. No i don't  think we will ever find out but at least we have a pictorial record. She seemed a kind and caring individual with faults and problems just like everyone else, and being married to a man like Charles must have driven her to distraction, knowing that he was having an affair and in love with someone else must have been crushing. I think that now is the time to remember her and say farewell, she wasn't a saint not sinner but a complex and sometime misunderstood woman and i hope that she is at peace where ever she is.

  28. I believe Dodi did it!!!

    CHEERS!!!

  29. Absolutely none. And I am so bored with this adulation of a person who was made by the press.

  30. The fairy tale like wedding to Prince Charles, her energetic work on ridding the world of land mines, how beautiful she was compared to Charles, what a lucky guy he was, that she was a common school teacher, the programs she initiated for reading skills in British schools, then the Shock of the divorce.......also how many women around the world started having hair cuts that looked like hers.  Then the disgust of the Queen prior to and leading up to the marriage.  There was all sorts of gossip from within the ranking elites mostly negative towards Diana.  No - do not think that the answer of what truly happened on that fateful night!!  Too much money and power behind the scenes to ever know....

  31. I remember reading a scathing report and seeing photos of her sunbathing with Dodi in the Sun newspaper a couple of days before the papparazzi chased her to her death.

No doubt they will be running a story about how great she was today.
