She's almost 4 months old. She always sleeps in between 4am-6am in the morning...then wakes up around 2pm in the afternoon...then she takes a nap around 4-5pm for about 2-3 hours. Excuse my language this isn't going to be so motherly but...this is driving me f***ing crazy. What the H*LL am I supposed to do? ...I have to wake up at 9 in the morning....and she's just crying!?!?!?!? OMFG. I'm about to shoot my brains out.

  1. keep her up, dont let her sleep. and put her to bed.  make sure when you put her to bed that she is fed, clean and dry. and she will scream it out!!!  mine did.  but after and day or two (a weekend did it for me) i started friday night putting her down, and waking her up when i wanted her to get up during the week.  now she goes down without much hassel. she cries for a few minutes, but it isn't blood curtleing screems.  now even if she wakes early, she ammuses herself in her crib.  its great.  shes doing it right now.  and im going to go so i can shower in peace and then feed my kid :-)  good luck!!

  2. Try to follow a feed/wake/sleep cycle with feeding her every 3-4 hours.  Say she wants to eat at 6am, keep her awake for a while and then it's nap time.  Get her back up to eat at 9 or 10am.  She's going to fight this, probably for a few days but stick with it!!  You may have to let her cry it out..  she needs to realize that nighttime is not playtime, and she's old enough to do this.  Is her room darkened during the day?  If so you may need to lighten it up so she sees the difference between night and day.  Good luck!

  3. Hi,

I think the most important thing to start with is to get your baby into a good sleep routine.  I had massive problems with getting my 4 month old son to sleep.  He would just lie awake and cry for hours, then when he finally went to sleep he would wake every hour or two hours through the night and cry again!  Talk about pulling our hair out .... we were absolutely desperate for sleep!

It was a baby sleep audio program recommended by a friend that finally saved us. We followed the advice and began by creating a baby sleep routine which included bathtime, dimming of the lights, putting James into his crib, final nappy change and then lullabies. We also made recommended changes to his naps during the day and used some of the other recommended techniques. Within two weeks he was sleeping through the night most nights with just the odd night where he would just wake once!

Definitely start by creating a good baby sleep routine though and you could find that solves most of your baby sleep problems.

    Good luck!

  4. Get her on a scedule!!! Like right now!!! Keep her up in the day she will be so tired she will sleep all night almost!! If you put her to bed at like 8 at night and she wakes up at seven the next day thats fine! Don't let her sleep to long in the day she will be to awake to sleep at night!
