It's June 2008, Should I buy plane tickets for Christmas yet?

I found them at $279 per person, round trip from San Diego to Seattle on non-stop flights. This seems like a great deal but I've never flown during the holiday season...

On a side note- If they go down would the airline give me credit?

  1. No but you won't pay more if they go up.

They are an airline not an auction house!

  2. yes buy them.  I always wait till the last minute and get ripped of.  Also on CNN there showing how flying is getting more expensive and its better to but tickets now.  Last chrismas it cost me 1800 to fly to India.  This chrismas it will cost me 2700

  3. I work for America Airline as a ticket agent. First off YES! buy a air fare ticket as soon  as possible. The x-mas holiday get booked fast after summer when all the kids go back to school and finds out when they are off for their x-mas break.

The next thing during the x-mas break I have never seen a ticket go down in price. For the most part it will go up. Also now that gas is the way it is it will make that 279pp ticket sky rocket.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Yes!!! Before you know it, they're going to be in the 800's. They won't go down....Trust me. They get expensive during holidays.

  5. Yes, you definately should. It is only going to get more expensive closer to the time, and also with fuel prices going up it is going to add extra cost on top of that again.

  6. with plane tickets in the holiday season, around july, august you get deals with the airline, which make them cheaper, so just hold on a couple more weeks and see if they change any more, cause as soon as september comes around, they always increase.

No airlines wont give you credit, you agreed to buy the ticket at that time at that price.
