First saw this guy at the Sony Ericsson finals having never heard of him before less to say seen him play i came to think like many of us thought that he was a 'fluke' or simply didn't expect such achievements in just a single year. His game has sure doubted me wrong.

Yes, if Federer and Rafa weren't around he would certainly do better than he has.

Amazing how the term Great gets bandied around now adays. Its just so mediocre a term now I'm afraid.

Great used to mean something of significance like the accomplishments of Boris Becker winning Wimbledon at 17, or Rafael Nadal winning 81 consecutive matches on clay including 3 straight French Opens, or Borg winning 5 straight  Open Era Wimbledon titles, or Roger Federer equalling Borg's record of 5 straight Wimbledons, or winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the same year three times, or capturing the Open era record of most consecutive US Open titles (four) in 2007, or of being ranked World #1 for an ongoing record of 225 consecutive weeks as of May 19, 2008, outlasting Jimmy Connors's record of 160 consecutive weeks as #1 men's player and Steffi Graf's record of 186 weeks as #1 singles player in the world, or Steffi Graf's Golden Slam, or how about four consecutive Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, in 2008. Now that was Great.

Hopefully he can one day live up to your perceptions of him.
