Question:

It's almost 1 AM, I'm on day 4 of no sleep, and I don't feel tired? Am I insane? ?

This happens a lot. Sleep studies show nothing, it's like my body decides to rest peacefully when I decide to trek 45 miles to the sleep center, and it likes to stay up for days when nobody is watching, and I can't prove it.

I'm starting to feel it, and it's showing at work, and in everything I do. My friends say I'm not pulling my weight in our friendships anymore, I always stare off into space or don't even pay attention.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

  1. At least try to get some sleep. Then you'll be more attentive. It's also very relaxing and peaceful =D

  5. 4days!? Wow. Perhaps you should see a doctor. If they do diagnoise a problem maybe they will give you medication.

    or.

    Maybe too much stress, try to relax before you sleep don't think about the negitives in your life, try to let yourself go.

    I've heard of foods that make you sleep better. Maybe try researching. I always see articles.

  6. Have your thyroid checked to see if it is over active. Many Doctors do not do thyroids well as they will try to tell you something else is going wrong with you. This happened to my wife who had an over active thyroid and got it fixed after a second opinion. It is worth a look even if I am wrong.  

  7. not sleeping is unhealthy. exercise will get you to sleep right away.

  9. Go see a psychologist.  they will give you a seven hour bank of tests and tell you what you need to know.

    I did it when my memory was failing and I stared off into space all the time for years.

    One day in a moment of clarity I wrote and told my doctor about it and he sent me to the psychologists.

    Now I lead a normal life and I can remember and I don't have time to sit and stare because I can function.

  11. If the sleep center isn't paying off at all, it may be psychological. Talk to your doctor or your parents about a recommendation along these lines.
