when my brother was 12 he got his first too, it was Enjoi band because thats a good make for beginners apparently. It depends how much you want to spend, they are more expensive on their own website if you get it off the net so shop around (try kelkoo). About the size: just go for regular size, that way it lasts longer.

if he really want to start skateboarding for reall dont get him a cheap walmart skateboard get him a good one from like vans or like your local skateshop.make sure you get him pads and helmets becuase hes gonna fall. but whatever you do dont get a cheap skateboard cause theyre no good
