It's been 6 weeks since I gave birth. I was wondering when to expect my period? ?

I was going to start my birth control Sunday, should I wait for my period to come or go ahead and start birth control?

I started the pill 7 weeks after giving birth.  My first period was kind of funky and came early (heaving spotting) and lasted til the normal time it should end.  If you wait it could be up to 3 months.
