It's been awhile...research paper help?

I haven't been in school and I should definitely know this but oh well!

I'm writing an MLA format research paper. I can't remember if you are talking about a book in your paper do you italicize the book, or underline it?

For instance...my paper is on the book called Speak. When I make a reference to the book would I underline Speak? Thanks!

You can put the title of the book in italics or underline.  You don't have to do both.

If you are typing you italicize it but if you are handwriting it you usually underline it
