It's finally proved why Chris Paul is overrated!

Question

If you go to the NBA section on ESPN.com you see the cover story is about the benching of Jason Kidd. The cover is a picture of Paul and Kidd. If you go to the box score, which not all people do, you will see that Deron Williams DESTROYED Paul in quality of play. They both played 20 minutes, so the stats weren't weighed by minutes, go check the box score yourself. Even though Deron played ten times better than Chris, Chris still gets the media, and the cover. How ridiculous is that? He wouldn't be second in MVP voting if there weren't all of these jockers. When does DWills get his chance to shine in the press?

Paul dominates Williams in every crucial statistical category. Williams is good, but Paul is getting all the media play he deserves, not to mention, his plays are more fanciful and awe-inspiring than Williams'. The stats speak for themselves. Sounds like your the biased one to me, Joker, or is it Jocker?

when cp3 is in, he's usually playing with lebron, kobe, dwade, melo, other really high scorers. dwill doesnt play with them and has more of an opportunity to score

First of all, you're looking at minutes from an exhibition game against an European team national team... with European rules. Deron Williams is a great player under European rules where they play more zone than anything else. Deron is a stronger player. Thats it.

Secondly, Williams come off the bench for most of the game. He played garbage minutes. So is Chris Paul overrated because he didn't play as well against a zone defense in one game? I don't think so.

Lastly, Deron Williams has a better supporting cast in Utah. Why is it that Chris Paul and the Hornets had a better record and made it to the Western Conference Semifinals? Overrated? I think not.

He deserved the MVP more than Kobe, Lebron, or Garnett.

Everyone forgot Ray Ray was also the reason for Bostons +42 game turnaround.

CP3 literally brought the underdog Hornets all the way to 7 games with the Defending CHamps Spurs in the Tough Western Conference Semis.

This just proves that Williams is underrated.

Chris Paul gets the coverage because he was in fact 2nd in MVP voting, had better stats than Williams in the NBA, the all-star, and lead his team in the playoffs.

Williams lead the team in assists last game, I believe he had 9 (I do check out the box score every time). He had a great game and he is considered the USA's secret weapon.

Williams is a great young point guard and he will get his time in the years to come because he is still young. He has yet been in an all-star game and I believe this will change next season.

on a team packed with all-stars, of course you won't get all the attention all the time.

Paul has been getting a lot of credit because he scored 20+ points, lead the league in assists and steals. Hornets almost finished first, right behind the Lakers. Pretty incredible stats for a young point guard, don't you think?

Chris Paul is a good player, but no where near MVP candidate caliber.

Chris Paul is like Kevin Martin or Monta Ellis. Certainly good players, but definitely not USA Basketball or MVP material.

When I watch Deron williams he make pg passes, as in he passes around peoples body to get his teammate a decent look. He penetrates and kicks out like good pg. Chris paul more than less does passes from the top of the key where the player just hits a J.

Chris Paul is not overrated, if you believe that you need to "watch" more b-ball instead of reading stat sheets. This guys got skills at the PG position we havent seen in a long time

That's only because when Paul and Williams are in the game at the same time Williams usually plays the 2 position, so he gets more shots. But both can run the offense in any given time.

Kobe only averages about 11 points for team USA but hes not overrated is he. No one on the team is overrated. They all just take sacrifices so everyone can get there shin. Heck J-Kidd will go the whole game without shooting a single shot, but that doesn't mean he is a bum.  So paul is not overrated.
