It's like 100 billion degrees right now, how do I cool off?

My new apartment is air conditioner-less and I am burning up. It's 87 degrees at almost 8pm. I have no pool access, no hose, no water balloons, no nothing. I've already taken a cold shower.

Suggestions?

  1. Take all your clothes off and rub ice cubes all over your body. For more fun, have someone help you.

  2. go to the mall

    go see a movie

go down to the ice cream store(Baskins Robins)

hop on a bus for a ride (they are air conditioned)

  3. take of your clothes.

  4. If it is like 100 billion degrees F or C don't matter at that temp

You are burnt up Poof gone in less than a puff of almost smoke

    . . ..

But what you should of done is strip naked and get into a cold water bathtub

    .. . ..

That will cool you off and then get out of the tub do not get dressed and stand infront of

    . .. ..

    not a window

    .. ... ..

A fan that is away far away from any window

    .. . ..

Then get back into the bathtub and back in front of the fan

    .. . ..

Do this a couple of times and you should start to see goose bumps on your body where

    .. . ..

I will let you look to see where they are on different places on different people

    . .... ...

Me it is on my arms

    . .. . ..

Yes I have done this and it does work

  5. cold water bath(maybe even use ice? :) )

put your pillow case in the freezer for tonight

    dress cooly

carry around and icepack and put one near or in your bed

do stuff that uses low energy

see if  you can go down to like walmart or a dollar store of something and get a squirt bottle and/or a fan :)(small and or large)

make yourself things to eat that are cool

like drinks or frozen treats(ex:you can make Popsicles from any drink if you have those little dealies(or some kinda popsicle shaped container) and some popsicle sticks

think only about cold, not hot, watch movies where its snowy or cold or something to HELP make you believe your really cold(especially if your eating those cool or frozen treats, that helps)

hope this helps a little :)

i used to live in tx and i know how the summers kill :)

    good luck

  6. The source of the heat is actually coming from outside the building. Your building and apartment have good solar exposure. UV is causing the exterior to generate extreme heat the building isn't designed or insulated for and the heat generated conducts back inside the building.

Air conditioning is in fact refrigeration that is associated with ozone depletion and mercury toxins associated with generating electricity with coal.

Your apartment is contributing to global warming so paint the exterior a lighter color, trees supply shade, etc. Go to the link here and see solar impact on development that just couldn't be qualified before. http://www.thermoguy.com/globalwarming-h...

  7. NAKED TIME!

  8. 1) Keep fanning yourself (you wouldnt want to harm the environment would you? Where I live it ranges from 28-32 Degress Celcius (sp?) yet I dont turn on my aircon, I normally turn on the fan or dont open the windows.)

    2) Open all your windows

    3) Wait for it to rain and dance in the rain

    4) Dont waste water, go for a swim.

    5) Go to an already airconditioned room.

    Thats all! Ta :)

  9. If you really can't handle the discomfort, buy a small portable window air conditioner.

We found ourselves in the same situation and we bought an $88.00 5,200 btu air conditioner at Target, that does the job.  It wasn't that heavy to carry up the stairs, and it did the job so well and affordably (it didn't increase our electric bill too much) I went and got a second one for the living room.

  10. Believe it or not, taking a cold shower makes your body think it's cold and produce more heat, so it makes you hotter, not cooler.  Try taking a warm shower, and you will lose heat and feel cooler.
